Not many people will argue, the AFC East is the best conference out there. Last season, they just missed out on having 3 playoff teams, and 2 of the teams met each other in the AFC Championship in a game that was decided by 3 points. The Jets went on to the Superbowl and lost to a 49er team that was had a HUGE talent advantage over the Jets who were led by their rookie QB. This year, two of the teams are under new management with Gyrene76 taking over the Dolphins and Papa Perry taking over the Patriots. Big expectations are on this division, as they will be for the remainder of the cycle.

    Last season- 8-8
The Pats are arguably the most talented team in the division, but most everyone isn't giving them a chance to compete in the division, much less win it. They return two of the most important parts of their team, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. The passing attack is going to be there but for how long? Tom Brady isn't getting any younger and could be out the door pretty soon. Is Ryan Mallett going to be ready to take over? Will we some of Ryan Mallett this upcoming season? We'll know everything we need to know about the Pats in the first 5 weeks as they play 4 division games in that time span.

    Last Season: 9-7

The Dolphins are under new ownership, and it seems like they're playing with a smaller roster than most because the new owner is currently strapped for cash. Luckily, they have most of the pieces on offense with Ryan Tannehill, Lamar Miller, and Mike Wallace. Honestly, this team has a lot of talent looking from the outside in, and should put up explosive offensive numbers. The defense is probably the question mark on this team.

    Last Season: 14-2 Superbowl Appearance

The Jets won the division last season and made a Superbowl Appearance behind MVP/Rookie of the Year Geno Smith, but ultimately came up short of the ultimate goal by failing to beat the San Francisco 49ers. The Jets also made the biggest move of the offseason by acquiring arguably the best tight end in the game in Jimmy Graham from the Saints for a few draft picks and CB Kyle Wilson. The Jets easily got the best end of this deal. It will be interesting to see the type of offense they run this season and how they get their new tight end involved.

Last Season- 11-5 AFC Championship Appearance

The Bills were a last second field goal away from a Superbowl last year and should come back hungry. EJ Manuel has about half a year under his belt (injured for over 9 weeks) and should be much better than last season. CJ Spiller and Stevie Johnson also return and should be big parts of the offense if they can stay on the field and hold onto the ball. The Bills also acquired Kellen Winslow and Emanuel Sanders to give EJ a few receivers that hopefully can hold onto the ball.

    Games to watch:

Week 1 Pats vs. Dolphins - New owners in the division facing off against each other.
Week 6 Bills vs. Jets- AFC Championship rematch
Week 16 Jets vs. Giants- Could have been the Superbowl

I think the NFC south was better with the natural.

Aside from that, yes - toughest division ever.

We just finished up week 4 and we can take an early look how things are going to shape up in this division. First things first, we've already had one coaching change as the Patriots coach took a job with the Baltimore Ravens and it gave newcomer kdpnutter a chance to take over the New England Patriots. The new coach came in and picked up a big win over the division champion last season, 45-14.

    Week 5

Absolutely a lethally brutal division from top to bottom (excluding myself) definitely don't envy teams that play the AFC East.

Just some fun facts, AFC East seems to give up a lot of yards but buckle down and get the turnovers and don't allow a ton of points. Since Phil had the offensive stuff down figured I'd throw up some defensive stats. Except the 3rd down conversion percentage, is how well YOUR offense converts 3rd downs.
