Trying something new here as I plan to update this blog every couple Madden weeks with any and all information relating to the AFC South including but not limited to; big games, great player performances, major injuries, trades, etc.

At a glance *will update division records later, can't see from my phone*
    1) Indianapolis 10-1 thafuture3886
    2) Tennessee 7-4 ThaBayouChef
    3) Houston 4-7 saintsdave75
    4) Jacksonville 4-8 CHUNKNESS
With 5 games left, it appears the Colts can all but wrap up the division title with a win at home this week against Tennessee.

    FEATURED GAME

These 2 teams met a few weeks ago in Tennessee with the Colts coming out on top with an impressive 42-10 win behind a strong defensive effort. Expect the Titans to come out fired up hoping to not only close the gap in the division but to also keep their playoff hopes alive. A loss here would all but assure the Colts of their first division title since the days of Peyton Manning and would go a long way to proving they made the right move moving on from Manning and selecting Andrew Luck as their new franchise quarterback.

    Tale of the tape
    Indianapolis 10-1 Tennessee 7-4
33.5 points per game 18.7 points per game
14 points per game allowed 17.5 points per game allowed
215 point differential 14 point differential
    Players to watch
    RB - Bernard Pierce, Colts
    RB Chris Johnson, Titans
    ROLB Robert Mathis, Colts
    CB Alterraun Verner, Titans

A disgusted fan sits alone in the seats after the Titans loss to Broncos

After a strong start to the season in which ThaBayouChef and his Titans began 7-4 and looked primed for a playoff berth the Titans now sit at 7-7 following 3 straight losses to the Raiders, Colts and Broncos all by 4 points or less. All hope is not lost however as the Titans are not mathematically eliminated yet but they would need plenty of help and losses by the Jets, Browns and Dolphins to remain in the playoff hunt.

The front office has been quoted as not being happy with the quarterback play from Jake Locker as well as some of their receivers and are actively shopping many players with hopes of improving. It will be an interesting final 2 weeks for the Titans. Will they pack it in and look towards the offseason or will they use these 2 weeks to finish strong and get a look at some of their young players in the process?

    AFC SOUTH SEASON RECAP

    FINAL STANDINGS
    Colts 14-2, playoff position TBD
    Texans 8-8, no playoffs saintsdave75
    Titans 8-8, no playoffs ThaBayouChef
    Jags 6-10, no playoffs CHUNKNESS

The division race did not go as expected as the Colts won the division by a very convincing 6 games but definitely had their fair share of close battles within the division. The Colts have all their major pieces locked into long term deals and with plenty of players on rookie deals, look to make some moves this offseason.

Houston rebounded very well from a crushing 0-5 start to finish 8-3 in their last 11 games including wins over the Colts an Titans in the last 3 weeks. Houston will have to decide if Matt Schaub is the QB of the future, and if not they will have to fill that position over the next 2 offseasons.

Tennessee started out hot going 7-3 in their first 10 games but the wheels fell off in the final 6 weeks as they went 1-5 to finish the season. Is Jake Locker the answer here? The jury is still out on the young QB but Bud Adams(RIP) is not fond of losing so look for this team to be very active this offseason.

The Jags record may not show much but this team definitely improved throughout the season. The Jags have a lot of young talent but still are looking for that franchise QB that has eluded this franchise forever. Gabbert is obviously not the answer so they will hope to fill that positions ASAP.
