The only issue that I forsee is that some of you guys expressed concern at the number of user games this setup would result in and how it might affect our advance pace. I think adding the 2 extra teams will help with that a bit. Also, we played a minimum of 5-6 regular season user games last year, and the other thing that helps is understanding that taking a sim or going on AP isn't the end of the world. I think our goal should be to get through as many seasons as possible, and for that to happen you have to be ok with going on AP if you are unavailable for a day or two here or there.

However, if anyone is really concerned about it now would be the time to discuss it.

I'm guessing we will wind up with 7 user games per season...... to me, that's not so far off of the typical 5 you'd see in a 6 vs 6 league with 2 conferences

The only real downside I can see is that there will never be any user vs user post-season games

It could end up anywhere from 5 - 7. All depends on how the CPU schedules teams.

My bet is we would be looking at a 9 game conference schedule, so 5 users in your division out of 7 games and 2 vs the other division with a 5 of 7 chance of those also being user games, so usually 7, sometimes 5 or 6.....

    Likelihood of 2 user cross-division games: 15/28 = 53.57%
    Likelihood of 1 user cross-division game: 12/28 = 42.86%
    Likelihood of 0 user cross-division games: 1/28 = 3.57%

One of you guys could test this setup with NCAA 2012 and see how many user games you'd have, as I understand it the scheduling logic is the same as it will be in 2013.

    ... so it's a nightmare?

My calculations above are accurate. Those are the likelihoods for each user team, each year.

Yeah, but you also have to consider who you would play in division. With 8 teams in a division would you play all 7 every year?

I believe you do, yes. If not, I can go through a second round of calculations.
