There will be 4 awards issued each season.

The Michael Robbins award: If you dont remember this bastard at Arkansas then you didnt pay attention. This award goes to the best offensive player in AM each season.

The Kapono award: If you didn't know, kapono is a beast on the sticks at MLB. This award goes out to the best defensive player in AM.

The DGB trophy: This little peice of hardware goes out to the freshman player who makes the biggest impact for his team in AM each season.

The Nathan Graham plaque: Graham had it all, size, speed, and accuracy. He was the #1 QB in the land and never amounted to much at Auburn. This goes out to the most disappointing season long performance.

Dont worry, keep up the anemic rushing numbers and we'll find you a spot on the Nathan Graham plaque!

Brendan Bigelow can't stay on the field past the first quarter. He's made it to the 2nd quarter in 1 game so far before being injured.

    Update through nine weeks.......

    Michael Robbins Award:

Casey Paschall, QB, TCU - 15 TDs against just 3 INTs, plus over 300 rushing and 5 more TDs
Ka'Deem Carey, HB, Arizona - Leads the country with 1094 rushing yards.
Clint Chelf, QB, OK State - continues to be a frontrunner. 2646 yards, 26 TDs, 369 rushing and 8 more scores
Wymon James, HB, TCU - not the tear he started on, but still at 108 ypg ang 8 scores
Charlie Moore, WR, OK State - Chelf's very own Wes Welker in the slot has 55 more catches (77) and 660 more yards (1071) than the next closest guy on the team. Both stats lead the nation

    Kapono Award:

John Timu, MLB, Washington - 42 solo tackles, 11 sacks, 2 FF. This kid is on fire.
Kyle Rose, DE, WVU - huge showing against SMU puts him at 14 sacks after 7 games.
Will Clarke, DE, WVU - Having a banner year. 15 sacks in 7 games is incredible.

    DGB Trophy:

JaVelle Allen, QB, Arizona - not asked to do much outside of hand off, this youngster is still playing mistake free thus far as a starter
Ford Childress, QB, WVU - Running the spread well, too many INTs, but lots of yards, a threat to run or throw, leading his team to a 7-0 record so far.

    Nathan Graham Plaque:

De'Anthony Thomas, OWPN, Oregon - Still on this list only because about half of his yards came in one game, pretty lackluster in the rest of his games.
Garrett Gilbert, QB, SMU - 23 INTs in 7 games, ouch.

Wait.....what?!? Is that a misprint? A slot WR has 3 times as many catches and more than twice the yards as the next highest guy on the team. Wow.

Interceptions for Garrett are somewhat meaningless. At the end if the day, he's won the games he was supposed to, and has us in position to go bowling. Obviously, it's not a number we are proud of, but all things considered, we won't lose any sleep over it.

Can my defense win that award for crappiest performance? If not, can we make a new award in their honor? We can call it the Annual "Have you seen that pile of crap out there?" award sponsored by Charlie Weis.

to defend him a little..... I don't think its cheese for a slot guy to lead your team in catches. It happens in the NFL and college (wes Welker and victor Cruz jump out). Especially if you run a 3 and 4 wide look as your base. SA likes to do "ball control" passing and the slot guys get the best routes for that style. Also, the player in question isn't some cheesy speed guy, he is kinda average.

having said all of that, the # of catches and yards compared to everyone else is pretty glaring

I would agree if the guy had like 10-15 more catches than his other WR's and the reception spread was pretty good. But to have the kind of discrepancy you are talking about sounds like the old "slot post route" cheese guys used to do in older versions of the game. I mean, you at least have to formation sub your top WR's into the slot occassionally and throw them the ball for appearances sake. :D

I think we shouldn't all be stat Nazis......

okstate goes to the slot guy... A lot..... We also have teams with about a 3:1 run pass ratio. In RL the only teams with more than about a 2:1 ratio are fleXbox One teams.

on balance, telling guys to mix it up a little is fine, but lets not go crazy. In our game, okstate threw to that guy more than anyone, but it never felt exploitative or cheesy. It felt like he was trying to throw high % passes and then a few times he got tunnel vision because he zeroed in on his favorite target, not a huge deal imo
