In so far as the Weekly Worst is concerned, it can be said that the Texas A&M Aggies came out of the gate strong. They say everything's bigger in Texas, and that includes beat downs. It was a total team "effort" as the numbers tell us the story in this game:

    Texas A&M defense
701 yards allowed of Total Offense (655 passing)
SMU QB Garrett Gilbert - 34/52, 643 yards, 7 TD

    Texas A&M Offense
    Turnovers - 9 total (2 fumble, 7 INT)
    QB Jameill Showers - 7/14, 70 yards 3 INT

Dishonorable mention - A&M's debacle overshadows #1 Alabama's horrendous performance against the Michigan Wolverines. While the offense held their own, the defense allowed the Wolverine offense to go up and down the field to the tune of 45 points and 448 yards.

    Week 2

If week one saw horrible defense performances make the Weekly Worst, week two welcomes offensive ineptitude...

The long-awaited clash between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Arkansas Razorbacks put up a fireworks display show that makes the San Diego Fourth of July debacle look like New Year's at the turn of the millennium. Don't believe me, read below:

    272 combined total offense yards
    4/18 combined third down conversions
    6 combined Turnovers (5 INT, 1 FL)
2 Defensive TDs vs 1 Offensive TD
    Georgia - 50 passing yards
Arkansas - 21 rushing yards (not including sacks)

Dishonorable Mention - Jameill Showers (TAMU) 11/20, 116 yards, 3 INT and AJ McCarron (Ala) 4/9, 33 yards, 3 INT. Showers makes his second appearance in two weeks and as coach Jayrah has mentioned, has likely thrown his last competitive pass

Can't argue there Boom29. The stink off that game could be picked up all the way out here in LA.

If only real life was as easy as having the servers down so that your mistakes and wrongdoings get erased.

Well, when your Miami QB Stephen Morris, you get afforded the redo and don't get to live with that fact that you turned the ball over 6 times, including 5 interceptions, 3 of which were returned for touchdowns.

Dishonorable mention - EA Sports server maintenance team.

Quarterbacks gets the glory, and here, they'll get the blame.

In the highly anticipated match-up between LSU and Auburn, a Tiger forgot how to growl and instead whimpered under the lights. So-called "experts" predicted an LSU victory, they just couldn't have predicted that LSU QB Zach Mettenberger would to be in a giving mood.

    Mettenberger - 8/18, 98 yards, 4 INT

Dishonorable mention - Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel, picking up where Jameill Showers left off: 11/23, 78 yards, 5 INT
Dishonorable mention #2 - The George Bulldogs training staff where they make players out of glass. FR HB Keith Marshall is now out for the year due to another injury.

When does throwing five interceptions not get you Weekly Worst honors? Well, when you manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, or in another instance, when you fall for an old trick.

First, we have the Texas A&M Secondary who allowed a 43 yard TD pass as time expired to give away a hard-fought win to the Arkansas Razorbacks. It's like the football Confucius used to say, "when you have three safeties double covering receivers, you have none covering the one that's going to score."

Second, we have Missouri Kicker Trey Barrow who missed a short field goal in overtime that would have extended the game to a second OT but instead fell to the old "let's ice the kicker" timeout. Sadly for Barrow, the saying "good to see someone who doesn't buckle under the pressure" does not apply to him.

Dishonorable Mention - Miami QB Stephen Morris played his way onto the bench after a pitiful 7/16, 67 yards, 5 INT, FL performance.

I can't believe I made this list again. The worst thing is that my secondary played lights out up until ... that play.

I'm definitely not singling you out, but there was no way I could keep that off the list.

I'm not saying you are, nor am I debating that I deserve to be on it. I am just in disbelief that after that performance I somehow managed to make it again :D.

    Week 6

For the first time all year there were no overwhelmingly bad performances, which is disappointing to say the least. The Weekly Worst, undeterred, searched far and wide and has brought new blood to the list.

We first travel to Georgia where South Carolina QB Connor Shaw cock-blocked his offense with his performance - 12/23, 141 yards, 4 INT - in a 31-7 loss to Georgia.

We then head down to Fayetteville where Auburn QB Kiehl Frazier kiehled his offense by going 9/19 for 131 yards and 3 INT, all while the Auburn defense fell asleep at the wheel and allowed 28 second quarter points to Arkansas

Dishonorable mention - Not only did Florida State allow a game-winning TD with nine seconds left in the game, but the Seminoles failed to convert a third down (0/6) in their loss to Missouri.

My defense technically only gave up 14 points. Frazier gave up the other 14 points with 2 pick 6's.

Thanks for keeping me in check. At least now we know that your QB really did have a bad week.
