After week 1 in TCBL, the Tigers finish 3-1 in division play, capping it off with a 13 inning thriller in Detroit against the 5-6 Twins.

The Tigers lost two heart breakers to the Orioles, the last loss coming in a 14 inning marathon.

Miguel Cabrera hit two HR's, one being a huge shot to center field, and the tying score came on a Prince Fielder jack in the top of the 8th.

The Tigers need to get their stuff together quickly to make the front office feel more comfortable after spending big to get Oswalt.

Good to hear, with the race being so tight as KnightNoles stated, I think we should start posting of how these wins/losses came about now that we are getting down to the nitty gritty.

I had two huge wins against both CPU Boston and New York. We all know how tough the CPU can be at times and this was no different.

Our pitching is starting to become solid and the bats are beginning to heat up. Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau are finally contributing like they should be.

Don't sleep on the Twins ryty32!

    Questions for ryty32
What are they doing in Cleveland that has their team doing so good?
    SIR
You are on top so far with a 9-4 record, how does it feel?
What team has been the most trouble for you so far in TCBL?
What team has been the least bit of trouble?
How does the Central play out? Will you stay at the top?
Who do you fear the most in the Central?
Who has been the MVP of your team so far?

What player do you feel has been the most disappointing?
Chris Perez seems to be dominating with 9 saves so far and an ERA of 0.00, can he keep this up?
Have you made any moves this season? If so, have they worked good or bad?
If you could have 1 player from another team who would it be?

Means nothing. It is too early to get that excited.
What team has been the most trouble for you so far in TCBL?
The Yanks. We've lost two of our 4 games to them. That lineup is ridiculous and we had to face 3-0 Kuroda and 4-0 Sabathia. That is the formula for two bad losses.
What team has been the least bit of trouble?
In two games, the Mariners have scored 2 runs against us. Other than that, the Twins are pretty terrible.
How does the Central play out? Will you stay at the top?
We have to get the bats going. We have the worst batting average in the division and are starting to have problems scoring runs. With that said, I look for the talented Tigers to rise up in the upcoming weeks. The addition of Oswalt will be huge for that rotation.
Who do you fear the most in the Central?
A team with Cabrera, Fielder and Verlander. That would scare any manager.
Who has been the MVP of your team so far?
Pronk. Though he is only batting .256, he's been huge with runners in scoring position this year. He leads the team in runs scored, home runs and RBI's.
What player do you feel has been the most disappointing?
Simple - Asdrubal. He is batting 3rd in the lineup and is batting .111. That cannot keep up.
Chris Perez seems to be dominating with 9 saves so far and an ERA of 0.00, can he keep this up?
Why would I say no to this? Of course! He has a nasty slider and good control over a 96mph fastball with considerable movement.
Have you made any moves this season? If so, have they worked good or bad?
The only move we have made so far is to add Casey Blake to play 3rd base. It is too early to tell if this is a good move or not.
If you could have 1 player from another team who would it be?
The way the Evan Longoria is playing, I would love to have him playing 3rd base for the Tribe. He is the early season MVP in my opinion.

    Twins Win Hit Fest
Minnesota moves to 8-6 with a 8-4 win over Chicago.

The Minnesota Twins win a crucial game against the Chicago White Sox today as they improved to 8-6 on the season. Anthony Swarzak would get the victory as he moved to 3-0 on the year and John Danks was given the loss as he was hammered in the 1st inning 3-0. He then gave up a 2 run shot to Ryan Doumit which put him out of the ball game. Josh Willingham hit his 6th double on the year and Denard Span finally got his 1st triple. Liam Henriks got the start and went 4.1 innings but was pretty shaky, giving up 6 hits and 4 earned runs with 3 strikeouts but 3 walks and an ERA of 2.76. Huge win for the Twins.

    Not Without A Fight
    Tigers beat Blue Jays, 7-5.
The Detroit Tigers have felt disrespected with all the talk about the Twins and Indians race for the AL Central crown lately. They go out and take down the Toronto Blue Jays to bring themselves within a game of the Twins at 7-6 for 2nd place.
Victor Martinez knocks out 2 HR in this one and Max Sherzer claws it out with a victory as he goes 5.2 innings and luckily the bats for his team were on fire. Jose Valverde was able to hold on for the Tigers to get the save. Huge win for the Tigers.

After a tough loss to the Oakland A's in Oakland, Detroit rebounded nicely with a convincing win in Detroit, 8-0, thanks to 5 RBI's from big Prince Fielder, and a masterful 7 inning shutout performance from Rick Porcello.

Here is Fielder's second long ball on the day.
