    #10 West Virginia Embarrassed by #1 Alabama, Tide wins 56 - 13

Morgantown, WVA --- Senior RB Mark Ingram and Sophomore RB Trent Richardson combined for 168 yards on the ground including 4TD's as #1 Alabama (not sure how we passed Texas in the polls) defeated #10West Virginia, 56 - 13.

Surprisingly, the Mountaineers struck first on a 32 yard fumble return by R. Sands to take an early 7 - 0 lead. That would be the last time that they were close. Alabama scored 28 unanswered points on the Mark Ingram TD's and to Interception returns by All American safeties R. Lester and R. Green (51 yards and 87 yards respectively) to take a 28 - 7 lead early in the Second Quarter and never looked back.

The schedule continues to be tough for the Tide as they host Arkansas next week and follow that up with a rematch against the Gators in Gainesville.

    #6 Alabama @ Mississippi State

ALABAMA ESCAPES WITH A WIN OVER MISSISSIPPI STATE (BARELY...)

STARKVILLE, Miss -- Trying not to look ahead to the big showdown next week against #1 LSU, the Crimson Tide needed overtime to defeat Mississippi State, 37 - 31. MSU Coach Mr. Bits drew up a crafty offense which seemed to confuse the Bama defense all game long. MSU QB T. Russell threw for 346 yards on 23 of 35 passing and 1 TD to lead the Bulldogs. MSU also had 2 receivers with over 100 yards passing in Bumphis and Byrd.

The play of the game happened in OT when Mississippi State threw this game ending interception on a screen play the was read by Bama corner B. Scott.

The Tide were once again lead by their senior RB Mark Ingram. Ingram ran for 164 yards on 26 carries and scored 2 TD's.

    GREAT GAME, MR.Bits.

BAMA CLINCHES SEC WEST WITH WIN OVER AUBURN

TUSCALOOSA, Al -- For the third straight year, Alabama will battle Florida in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Alabama used their powerful running game and stout defense to control the Auburn Tigers. The running game was lead by Mark Ingram who rushed for over 100 yards for the 4th straight game. He also scored 3 touchdowns.

Next up for the Tide - two out of conference games against Duke (2-7) and Western Kentucky (1-8) to finish the season before the SEC Title Game. Hopefully, the backups will get lots of time in these games.

**Since LSU and Alabama are tied in the SEC West, we go to the tie breakers. Tie breaker #1 is head to head competition. Since Bama beat LSU, Bama wins the SEC West (sorry CA!).

    A. TWO-TEAM TIE

    1. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
    2. Records of the tied teams within the division.
    3. Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall record (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
    4. Overall record vs. all common non-divisional opponents.
    5. Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
    6. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
    7. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game.
