Well coach you guys over came the early loss to florida and have yourselves in position to win the West again. Talk about how you got here.

Basically what will you do to stop Jefferson to Toliver?

who has stepped up the most to replace Julio?

On 4th and 2 from your 28 yard line with almost two to go with a 6 point lead in the 4th quarter will you go for it or punt?

Well, we had to really reshape our identity. Last year, our offense was really based around Julio Jones and Star Jackson. With Jones leaving early for the NFL, we have focused more on the running game with All-American Mark Ingram. Honestly, it has taken a little time to adapt. However, the last few games I feel it is all starting to come together at the right time. Ingram has rushed for 450 yards over those games and the defense has been extremely tough. Like the last two seasons, Alabama football is known for their tough D and this year is no exception. This year's team may be the best defense we have had here in a long time.

Basically what will you do to stop Jefferson to Toliver? It will be very difficult to contain that duo. Toliver is your prototypical NFL receiver with size, speed and great hands (a poor man's Julio :D). Let's just say that we will do whatever we can to prevent the him getting deep on us. Nevertheless, I think our secondary will be up to the challenge.

who has stepped up the most to replace Julio? You can't replace a Julio Jones. He is a once in 20 year type talent. This year I would have to say Marquis Maze is the best receiver we have. He is more of a slot receiver in the mold of a Wes Welker. He is 5'9 with exceptional speed and fantastic hands.

HB Dive to Mark Ingram. No doubt about it.

Great win coach. You guys are in control in the West and should be going to Atlanta. Talk about the road to get to where you are at.

Toliver gave you fits, he is such a great player. Is he better than Julio?

If the winner of the SEC Championship only has one loss after that game, they may end up in the BCS Championship are you starting to talk about that as a team or are you only claiming one game at a time?

Who led your team to victory against LSU?

Has LSU caught you in terms of where your programs are at talent wise?

Great win coach. You guys are in control in the West and should be going to Atlanta. Talk about the road to get to where you are at.

Last game against LSU was huge. It put us in great position to get to Atlanta. HOWEVER, we have to travel to Auburn this week. Anyone that knows anything about this rivalry will tell you that anything can happen regardless of records.

Toliver gave you fits, he is such a great player. Is he better than Julio?

They are different type of players. Julio was more of a physical receiver with fantastic leaping ability that had no problem making catches in traffic or over the middle. Toliver is more flash. He is much faster than Julio and is slightly taller. Plus, he is extremely elusive. Honestly, we were fortunate that they only threw to him 5 times. Of course, he took 3 of the 5 catches in for touchdowns.

If the winner of the SEC Championship only has one loss after that game, they may end up in the BCS Championship are you starting to talk about that as a team or are you only claiming one game at a time?

Well, like I said before, we have to beat Auburn to make it to Atlanta. With that said, if a team makes it through the SEC with only 1 loss, they DEFINITELY deserve to be playing for the National Title.

Who led your team to victory against LSU?

The Defense forced 7 turnovers and held LSU to 4 yards rushing. They were definitely the story of the game.

I think so. They had the lead 17 - 6 at half. It took a tremendous 28 point 4th quarter and multiple LSU turnovers to win the game. Man to man, they are right there.

Well it's Bama , florida again . . . What do you need to do different to come out on top this time against UF?

I heard that the loss to UF has been a motivating factor the rest of the season. Talk a little bit about your team's mentality going into the Conference championship game.

    A few things:

    1. Score touchdowns in the red zone. In the last game vs. Florida, we kicked field goals and had turnovers. That cannot happen this time if we expect to beat Florida
    2. Balance in playcalling. I felt like we focused too much on the pass last game. This time around, Mark Ingram will need to be more involved.
    3. A little luck. Anytime you play a team as talented as Florida, you need a few breaks to go your way.

We have to put the first loss behind us. That game no longer matters. We now have one game, winner take all, for the SEC Championship and a potential trip to the National Title Game. Should be fun!

Coach, tough loss to UF. What bowl are you guys in, who are you playing and what will it take to end this season on a high note?

How did Mark Ingram take the second place finish in the Heisman?

WHo is the next star for the Crimson Tide?

We are in the Capital One Bowl playing Ohio State. Obviously, a win over the Buckeyes would be big. They are a top notch program that will be tough to handle. (what I'm really thinking - They are 0 - 9 against the SEC in bowl games, so I would be devastated to lose to this inferior program...)

How did Mark Ingram take the second place finish in the Heisman?

Well, he did win the Doak Walker award so he should be happy with that. Unfortunately, he didn't have the best game against Florida. A strong performance in the SEC Championship game may have a made the difference. (what I'm really thinking - He choked)

Who is the next star for the Crimson Tide?

Things are tight in the SEC West race talk about the road ahead.

What a game between the Tide and the Dawgs! How did you get up by so much and how did it end so close? What were you thinking as the lead was shrinking?

Big game with Tennessee next, they are once again an unpredictable team, how will you attack the Vols?

As cliche as it is, we need to take it one game at time. We have the University of Oku next week. They are coming off a huge upset win over Georgia and may pose a challenge. With UT, LSU and an upstart Mississippi State team, the SEC WEST is tougher than ever.

What a game between the Tide and the Dawgs! How did you get up by so much and how did it end so close? What were you thinking as the lead was shrinking?

The defense played fantastic in the first half. Not only did they hold Georgia scoreless, but they were able to score two defensive touchdowns. The second half was a completely different story. Georgia's four wideout spread offense gave us all kinds of problems. However, they were able to come up with the game saving interception in the final seconds to secure the win.

Big game with Tennessee next, they are once again an unpredictable team, how will you attack the Vols?

Well, we aren't going to change anything against the VOLS. We will continue play aggressive defense along with the typical power running game. In the last three seasons, the games with UT really haven't been close. Until they show that they can play with us, we aren't going to change anything. :D

Huge win over LSU talk a little bit about the edge you have been able to maintain over the Tigers.

The bulls eye is on your squad with the #1 ranking are your players relaxed or are they feeling the pressure of National title expectations?

    Any big splashes in recruiting?

Well, it has definitely been a slight edge. If the LSU coach called a few plays a little differently, the outcome of the last two games may have been different.

They are relaxed. We learned a lot from last year's experience of being number 1 throughout most of the season only to lose in the SEC Championship Game. Hopefully, the results will be different this year.

    Any big splashes in recruiting?

We landed two big recruits that could help right away. First, we landed the #1 ranked QB (even though I think the Texas Recruit is better) in the country, Jon Sanders. He is a 6'2 quarterback with a very strong arm. Next, we landed the Top TE in the country, John Poland. He is a 6'4 213 pound TE that has fantastic hands and good speed. With Smelley leaving, he should see lots of playing time next year.

Florida Alabama . . . again . . . People can almost set their watch to this match up. What makes this one different from the others?

This game decides wether or not Alabama can play for the BCS and Florida has an outside shot at the BCS with a win and some help. Are your players feeling the pressure?

What is something people overlook when talking about this year's Crison Tide squad?

We aren't going to do anything different against Georgia. The key for us will be able establish Richardson early. If we can do that, we should be ok.

Can anyone stop the dynamic duo at WR?

Honestly, I don't think so. These are two of the most talented wide receivers in the country. Kelly is more of the sure-handed route running type, while Alexander is more of a 6'5 gamebreaker. They compliment each other very well.

    Repeat??????????

We shall see. This team definitely has the talent to do it.

Stubbed your toe but still in good position. How are things shaping up for the Tide?

Is this the year FL and Bama will watch the SEC CG on tv rather than playing in it?

Who needs to step up to assure you end the season with 1 loss?

We are ok. Unfortunately, our young secondary really struggled against the Bulldogs. We had a 24 - 14 lead with 2 minutes to play and could not stop their passing attack. The secondary has to improve if we are to get back to the SEC CG.

After 4 straight years of Florida/Bama in the SEC Championship Game, I wouldn't count either team out.

    1. Eugene Alexander - The Georgia secondary completely neutralized him. He did not have a catch in the entire contest. For us to have a chance against the Tigers, Alexander has to step up.

    2. The Secondary - The Georgia QB threw for over 400 yards against us. This CANNOT happen moving forward

Everyone's focus is on how LSU is the team of destiny this season. Are people overlookingg the Tide?

How big of a role will Trent Richardson play in this game?

Obviously the team that plays better D wil win, are your boys up to the task.?

Any message for the Tide faithful they are not as confident as they have benn in the past?
