With all-star voting upon us, I think it would be good for guys that you think are getting overlooked and deserve to be an all-star.

For Boston these two in particular I feel are getting overlooked.

Francicsco Rodriguez has been absolutely lights out for me this year, what other relief pitcher has even close to 8 wins and 2 saves? Rodriguez has been the ideal set up man and keeps us in games and gives our offense a chance to get us back in games. Rodriguez deserves to be an all-star as his 8 wins come close to some of the better starting pitchers and he does a great job.

    burgaz.jpg
This year Burgaz has been great at the DH slot, with a race with Jay Jennings for the DH spot Burgaz has the second highest batting average in the AL, with an OBP of over .420 I think it beats out the 20 home runs. Burgaz is an on-base machine and has been driving in a lot of runs and drawing a lot of walks. Burgaz deserves to be on the all-star team as the DH without a doubt.

I did like Gonzalez but for me it was his record that deterred me. I know we don't need to justify our votes but for me that is what swayed my vote.

Lol just sorta learned what fip is today, still not quite sure about it. For me wins, and era is what got votes for me.

I hate voting on wins for pitching. It's such a dependent stat.

Well for someone that doesn't understand all the intricate stats that's what I go off of, I actually learned a little bit about stats today in Skype with raj and Roggie. I just don't know the in-depth stats the way a lot do. Fip and all this other stuff I dunno. I just got a basic understanding of era+ today and whip thanks to raj and Roggie.

Nope, someone that can't make the throws from second to first and air mails throws doesn't deserve it. Chucky really was sucking defensively at the end of his career.

Last time I checked not a single Oakland player had a vote. And that was after I cast my ballot.

David Taylor. The guy is #1 in K's and tied for first in pitcher WAR and he isn't currently in the top 5 in voting

Tough year for bullpen guys, hell Francisco Rodriguez has 10, yes 10 wins as a reliever and isn't an all-star. Most wins on my team

MR wins are NOT indicative of MR performance

I'm sorry, Since you didn't like those stats how about these ones? Would you like the 135 era plus? Or the sub .280 babip? Or his low 3.00s era?

ERA+ is a much better stat than wins for evaluating relievers IMO.

    DET relievers ERA+:
    Ray Hughes - 165
    Lex Rutledge - 132
    Stosh Wawrzasek - 205
    Dan Parks - 143

This is why I think we should just let the game decide All-Stars in the future.

They don't deserve it, plain and simple the voters say they don't deserve it. It's just like when fans fill out there ballot they want to see the guys they want to see and like most years it's the top closers that put up the numbers that get the nod.
