Guys, I'm putting this out there now so that you can start to plan accordingly. We will be simulating the 2015 season as our "every other season" schedule continues. Both off-seasons COMBINED will take one week to complete. So we need everyone to be on point and prepare NOW.

Please note that all dates/times specified are subject to change as deemed necessary (example; playoff advances may fall later/earlier than scheduled depending on completion of actual games), but we will be standing with the scheduled draft dates/times. We will notify you if any changes to the proposed schedule occur.

    Key dates to note...

    • NFL Divisional Playoffs... 1/12 & 1/13 (Saturday & Sunday)
    • 12th Man Week 16... 1/12 - 1/14 (plan accordingly around NFL Divisional Playoffs)
    • NFL Conference Championships... 1/20
    • 12th Man Divisional Playoffs... 1/20 - 1/21 (plan accordingly around the NFL Conference Championships)
    • 2015 Draft... 1/27 (Sunday) @ 8pm EST
    • 2016 Draft... 2/2 (Saturday) @ 8pm EST
    • NFL Superbowl... 2/3 (Sunday)
Here's a spreadsheet with the "calendar of events" that you can refer to. The times indicated under the day/date are the DEADLINE for the week/task specified. Once again, all dates/times are subject to change as deemed necessary. We will NOT change the draft dates/times.

I already know I won't be available for either draft. B-day is the 23rd and the ole lady is taking me to Luke Bryan/FLGA Line concert in Orlando the 26th and then to the Blue Man Group show the 2nd. Everyone knows how much I loved the draft last time, lol, so don't hold them up for me! I'll put myself on auto each weekend...Unless they get pushed back for whatever reason.

Sounds good Loren. We'll take you OFF auto for the draft. Otherwise the CPU winds up trading your picks, etc. with other "auto" teams.

Lol. That figures. Sounds good. They can't do any worse in drafting players than I had last off-season. Lol

I cannot say enough how much I really enjoy having the online CCM this year; even with the salary cap glitch which has been corrected.

Only complaint I have, well two, 1) the playoff system still not being correct with seedings and tie-breakers. And 2) with the CCM website, I feel like it could be easier to maneuver in some instances and give a little more information in some areas. But other than those two things, a vast improvement from previous years!

In communicating with other leagues, my understanding is the tie-breakers have been corrected. We will find out soon enough. I am doubtful that the draft order will alternate draft picks each round between teams with tied records, but that may have been corrected as well. As for the website, there is some decent info there, but we can get all the info we need from the console. The alternative would be to use a product like MaddenDaddy.com, but that software isn't fully functional either and its functionality hinges on the responsibility of EVERY owner updating their team page which we all know would not happen. Vince (XFN developer) is working on a new product which is being developed to implement data/pages directly from the CCM website, but that won't be available for months. For now, it is what it is and as a commissioner I'm just happy with what we've got compared to what we didn't have with previous releases.

Just a thought and putting it out there, but for future drafts could we possibly do 1 year on the weekend and 1 year during the week some time? I can't be the only one here who typically does stuff every weekend. With both drafts, and 1 whole off-season basically, being completed on weekends I can only participate in 1 free agent period and then basically miss out on the rest of the offseason. Again, I don't really care because I'll play with whatever I'm dealt, but for future off-seasons and simmed seasons could we at least take a vote or something for it to be held during the week rather a weekend??

I remember having a draft or two during the day, also, but, with the CCM, you must be logged on to the EA server to draft, which sucks...

Yeah, we used to run the drafts throughout the day in the forum. But with the advent of the CCM and the online draft, we no longer have the need (or the capability even) to run the draft offline, so to speak. I have to disagree with you about it sucking. I think having the online draft is an excellent addition this year. :)

Holding the draft at 9pm EST on a weekday would mean a finish time of 11:30 - midnight EST. That would not benefit the majority of the league, nor would we want to expect individuals to stay up late during the work week to participate in the draft. I'm sorry you feel disadvantaged Loren, but we have to schedule based on the weekend.
