*ANNOUNCEMENT* NEW RULE: QB Playmaker Control (Receiver Redirecting)

Gentlemen,

I wanted to take this opportunity to inform everyone of a new rule we will be instituting and this rule will be going into effect immediately. League management has discussed this rule and feel that it is in the best interest of the league as a whole.

The new rule is addressing the ability of the quarterback to "Playmaker" the receiver closest to him and send him in another direction. Use of this tactic will now be strictly prohibited in The Q.

We don't feel that this is a tactic that was being widely used as it was, but the potential for abuse is too much so to be ignored. We consider all sides of a decision before coming to a conclusion, and we feel that the benefits of banning this practice from the league far out weigh the benefits of keeping such a little used, but potentially exploitative, tactic allowed.

I don't believe this new rule will significantly impact any of our current owner's game plans or play style significantly, but I want to apologize to any that may be inconvenienced by this new restriction.

Wow didn't even know it could be done this year I remember it from past Madden games but didn't use it then either so this won't be hard to follow.

Did anybody know it could be done? Obviously some people did, or at least 1? Can we see video of this? I've never seen it, or maybe have but just didn't catch it or know it was happening...

This feature can be abused, but also very helpful in certain situations, such as your opp running man to man defense alot or if they are using certain position players to cover the feild. I never used this as I am not good at it lol but it is a nice feature.

I use it from time to time. It can be very helpful against constant tight man coverage, when an opponent user's a saftey to jump routes underneath, and/or in scrambling situations. As with anything in Madden, it can be abused when not used in moderation.

I have issues with trying to use it and in the process of playmarkering the WR throwing the ball away due to using R3.

I can't speak for others, but I will say that I used it the other night in my game.

I like that the guy in the demo says it's highly effective lol yeah at abusing AI.

Just was able to watch the video on lunch, looks extremely glitchy to me. Especially when he runs crossing routes and jerks the receiver back across the field. Weak game play and he's probably a bum on the sticks without it.

That video does no justice to how it is supposed to be used, no way the player would have enough time to do those things lol. A great example of it be useful without cheese would be if you stepped back to pass and everyone is covered...( we all have had that happen lol) you scramble out of the pocket and are able to redirect the WR before getting sacked. Again I understand this rule being banned as it can be abused and cheesed, but I also think that it can be used in a manner that is not bummy aswell.

I think its important to realize the difference between playmaker and your WR trying to uncover themselves on a scramble. Ive seen people run the playmaker on drags against zone and playmaker the WR as they get to the middle of the field and streak. (Not in league play).

The only thing I would say or add is that its a little cheap/cheesy if you scramble past the numbers to throw the ball with the intent of getting the AI to commit to the QB.

Just thought I would also add its easy to tell when people do it. I usually see it with running backs running angle routes.

Also watch for the Glitch where players bounce of the lines and get open! Some might mistake that as "Playmaker"

I'll see if I can find the video. There's a Glitch where if a player is in the Flat he will bounce off the sideline if you wait long enough.

I know what you are talking about. The guy boosts/explodes off the sideline back towards the middle of the field creating good seperation from the DB. I tried finding a video of it that I had seen before, but didn't have any luck.

Yea I can't seem to find it either now. I saw it a long time ago.

Let's hope that the lack of videos out there means it is an issue that was fixed, if it was in fact a glitch.
