As you all know, with the change in the league format for M16, the number of owners has been reduced to 16 and our simmed seasons have been eliminated. We have amended the following rules to evolve and adjust to the new league format. Jim will update the League Rules to reflect these changes shortly, but we wanted to distribute this information to you now so that you are aware. Please click on each "spoiler" to review the changes and make note of what will be required of you moving forward. Please reply to this post with any questions. Thanks for your attention regarding this!

    • Player Trade Limit: During the first season of the franchise teams will be allowed three (3) trades total in which a player is sent and/or received from any team involved. For every season thereafter the trade limit will be reduced to two (2) trades total per team in which a player is sent and/or received from any team involved.
    • No More Than Two (2) Teams Per Trade: Trades may only be conducted between two individual teams/owners. Trades involving three or more (3+) teams/owners are prohibited.
    • 90+ Player Restriction: One (1) player with an OVR rating of 90 or greater (90+) is permitted to be sent by EACH team involved in any trade.
    • Player Limits: A maximum of four (4) players in TOTAL are permitted to be included in any trade. No individual team may acquire more than three (3) players in any single trade. Draft picks, included in a trade involving players, do not count toward this limit.
    • Trade Period: Any trades involving players may be used at any point between week 1 of the off-season through the week 8 regular season trade deadline; or "Trade Period" moving forward.
    • Draft Pick Only Trades: Any trade involving ONLY draft picks exchanged do not count toward the trade limit.
    • First Round Pick Limitations: Teams are restricted from possessing more than TWO (2) first round picks for any single draft, at ANY time.
    • Total Draft Pick Limitations: Teams are limited to accumulating a MAXIMUM OF 12 and a MINIMUM OF 5 draft picks per draft, prior to the draft going live. This limitation is lifted for each draft, once that draft goes live. Once the draft goes live, there is no limit to the number of TOTAL picks that one team may possess for the CURRENT DRAFT.
    • Future Draft Picks: Draft picks included in any trade are limited to the current and the next season's draft.
    • Swapping Draft Classes: Teams are not allowed to trade their draft picks from one draft for another (the exception being a legitimate trade, where future picks hold less value than current picks). If an owner is unable to attend a draft; they must request the assistance of another owner or allow the CPU to perform the draft selections.
    • CPU Team Trades: Human controlled teams are NOT allowed to make trade offers to CPU teams. However, human controlled teams are allowed to accept offers received from CPU teams provided the human controlled team involved in the trade does not violate the aforementioned trade restrictions. Player trade limits do NOT apply to CPU teams. All other trade restrictions apply.
    • Penalties: There will be no cumulative cap penalty limit, but this will be a consideration in the approval process.

    TEAM 1
Player A - position - Overall rating, age; or draft pick
Player B - position - Overall rating, age; or draft pick

    CAP PENALTY: $ TOTAL

    TEAM 2
Player A - position - Overall rating, age; or draft pick
Player B - position - Overall rating, age; or draft pick
    CAP PENALTY: $ TOTAL

ALL trades must be posted in the Team Management forum for approval by league management INCLUDING CPU TEAM TRADES.

ALL teams involved in a trade must post in the trade thread to indicate that they agree to the trade as posted. Once the teams have agreed to the trade in the trade thread, league management will evaluate the trade for approval.

If the trade involves an offer received from a CPU team, the owner must post an image or video highlight of the trade offer received and request league management approval. ALL trades must receive approval from league management BEFORE being processed in the online franchise including trades involving CPU teams.

The league management reserves the right to deny any trade at their discretion.

    • For trade protection purposes, the definition of "SEASON" begins with the off-season re-signings phase and ends with the conclusion of the Super Bowl.
    • Any player received via trade may not be traded again until the following off-season.
    • Any player signed as a free agent; either via off-season free agency or regular season free agency, is not eligible to be traded until the following off-season.
    • Any player that has yet to complete their rookie season is NOT eligible to be traded regardless of how the rookie was acquired by their current team.
    • Sign and trade transactions are allowed provided the aforementioned parameters are not violated.
    • Teams may release players received via trade at any time.

Sorry about that Carl. Are you able to change your forum style to TSO 2.0 Dark? That is what we've designed our forum information around. The yellow should be more visible with the dark background.

The trade announcement format looks very simple...I like that

    (y)

asking a question "outloud" in case anybody else had the same

As I read it...you cannot trade for Rookies...but 1 year players and on...are fair game on user/user trades and computer offered trades....is this correct?

Correct. The only limit is on rookies, signed free agents (for the effective season), and players received via trade (for the effective season).
