*ANNOUNCEMENT* UPDATED Team Selection Process for Madden 15

The success we had with the initial Loyalty Rewards Team Selections gave us cause to re-evaluate our initial plans for the Team Selection Process. We were very happy with the results of the Loyalty Rewards and the excitement that they brought to the league. Every owner that named a #1 team, was awarded that team; and the enthusiasm of those owners that got their top choice has been clearly evident!

Doug, Michael, and myself discussed this and decided that it would be a great idea to adapt that process to include EVERY owner in The Q. Now what we have planned is a little bit different than the Loyalty Rewards process, but equally fair and potentially rewarding. This new process will still favor those who finished the M25 release with The Q, so they get rewarded for their loyalty as well.

We feel like this change will allow even more owners to get "their team" or at least a team they can be excited about. I hope everyone understands our reasoning behind this change and is on-board with what we are trying to accomplish. If this next wave of selections is anywhere near as successful as the first, and I think it will be, we will be in great shape heading into Madden 15.

Once again, we will be categorizing the approved owners of The Q for M15 into 4 groups:

LOYALTY CATEGORIES:

CATEGORY A: Any owner who was with us from the beginning (Season 1, Week 1) of M25 and stayed with us until we shut things down for the release following the 2019 season.

CATEGORY B: Any owner who FINISHED the M25 release with the league and PLAYED more than one full season (not including simmed seasons).

CATEGORY C: Any owner who FINISHED the M25 release with the league, but PLAYED one full season or less (not including simmed seasons).

CATEGORY D: Any owner who DIDN'T FINISH the M25 release with The Q (whether they are brand new this release or a previous owner who left mid-cycle in M25).

TEAM SELECTIONS LOTTERY

OVERVIEW​

We wanted to give EVERY owner an opportunity to claim a team that they already know they want, regardless of anything in the game (salaries, cap space, ratings, etc.). Hopefully this will allow many owners to get "their team", whether it's their favorite team or just one they have been longing to control in Madden. This will be a "weighted" process, to allow preference based on the LOYALTY CATEGORIES.​

PROCESS​

Management will begin contacting approved owners via PM to notify them of their appointment as an owner for Madden 15.

There are 4 owners that qualified for CATEGORY A, who weren't awarded a team in the initial Loyalty Rewards Team Selection. Those four owners will once again be given the opportunity to name their TOP 2 choices of teams.

All other appointed owners in CATEGORIES B through D will be asked to name ONE team as their TOP CHOICE.

The selection of top teams is completely optional for any owner, with the understanding that this 2nd wave of selections will most likely leave only a handful of teams available for the more traditional team draft.

TEAM ASSIGNMENTS

• In the event that two (or more) owners from CATEGORY A name the same #1 team, the team will be awarded to the owner with lowest winning percentage in played seasons in M25. The other owner will be awarded their #2 selection.

• If multiple CATEGORY A owners who qualify for their #2 selection name the same team, that team and those owners will then fall into the more traditional team draft. No tie-breakers.

• In the event of a common selection between a SINGLE owner in one category and one or more owners in a LOWER category, the owner in the higher category is awarded the team.

• If there is any team named by more than one owner in the SAME category (B through D), and that team is not named by a SINGLE owner in a HIGHER category, that team and those owners fall into the lottery.

• Any owners not awarded a team via this method will enter the team draft. The team draft will proceed as detailed previously, including the same categories/groupings.

To sum it up; everyone gets one shot to get "their team". The Loyalty Rewards owners get 2 choices, because they qualified for the original selection and opted out, expecting a draft. Teams will be awarded progressively working from Category A down through Category D. If an owner's #1 team is gone by the time it has progressed to your category, or they are available and another member of your category has also named them, you will enter the team draft.
We decided to have the owners make their selections via PM to avoid cherry picking or changing of votes, based on another owner's vote. Owners are free to discuss their potential selections publicly, but they will only be accepted via the PM with League Management. Once choices are named they cannot be changed.​

TEAM DRAFT LOTTERY

The Q will still be holding our more traditional team draft lottery for any owners who don't qualify for, or are unsuccessful in claiming a team in, the Team Selections Lottery process.

OVERVIEW

We will continue with the theme of Loyalty Rewards when it comes to determining the order for our team draft.

LOTTERY ORDER

All remaining owners will be broken up into three categories for the purposes of the Team Draft Lottery:

DRAFT GROUP 1: Will consist of any owners left from CATEGORY A as well as owners from CATEGORY B.

DRAFT GROUP 2: Owners from CATEGORY C.

DRAFT GROUP 3: Owners from CATEGORY D.

There will be a separate lottery for each DRAFT GROUP to determine the order that owners in each DRAFT GROUP select their teams. DRAFT GROUP 1 will pick first, followed by DRAFT GROUP 2, then DRAFT GROUP 3 will finish up the team selection process.​

I am very happy with they way things are shaping up for The Q, and I hope this new process will bring even more excitement to the league as we count down the days until Madden 15!

UPDATE:

A few have asked about the Cowboys, who were awarded to Pope in the initial Loyalty rewards Selection. Pope had second thoughts and ultimately decided to relinquish his right to the Cowboys, in favor of entering the draft. Since we have decided to do a 2nd round of these team selections, he qualifies for CATEGORY A in this process (2 choices) for the remaining teams.

On that note, if there are any other owners who were awarded a team in the Loyalty Rewards and has had a change of heart, you have the option to do the same. If so, please reply to the original PM that was sent to you by league management.

Just know, anyone who relinquishes their team, will not have the opportunity to take that decision back.
