anybody here ever have surgery on their Achilles?

I tore my achilles tendon last week playing basketball it seems that I have to have surgery to repair it. I am having it done on Tuesday. Wondering if any of you have had this and if you know how long the recovery is?

Thanks Knight I guess Taiwan and I will have to battle it out in NCAA 11 while we recover. I'm really worried about returning to play sports again and having the tendon rerupture. Man getting old sucks.

Man that sucks York! Hope it heals quick.

My uncle just had this surgery a year or so ago. His was really easy because it wasn't a tear. He sliced his in half in some sort of weird edger accident (don't ask me, I still can't figure out how he did it exactly. Probably wasted...).

It's a big ass tendon and from what I have gathered is pretty easy to repair. Do yourself a huge favor and do the proper rehabilitation afterwords. It will help you get your strength and flexibility back in that foot. If you want to be active again, it's a must.

Let us know how it goes, man.
