I like knocking out 8 mins of potential gameplay out....the game did seem long.....but we can compromise.

My game with the Lions took like 90 mins....

11 is such a goofy number. I'll have more of an opinion after my game but I know the preseason games were fairly long.

Yeah, I don't have the time to be playing 1.5 hour games. I know Ryno was worried about the amount of plays.

We're gonna go with 11 mins for week 2. If people still feel the game is too long, we'll try 10 mins for week 3. We're looking for a happy medium between time/length of game and a realistic number of plays (approx 50 per team). So everyone play their week 2 games and give me some stats to judge by

not at all...don't want this to be a chore. but if 11 min qtrs, each team only has 40 plays...can't move it any further you know?

yea.. i love having the offense get to the line with 35 seconds on the play clock...

that setting just doesn't work with the longer play clock Bruce... it's so unrealstic.

I'm down for the 11 minute switch. Our game (Pitt vs Tenn) took about an hour fifteen. The number of plays definitely needs to be monitored though. If guys are passing the ball 40 times a game you're going to be in for the longer game because the accelerated clock won't apply on a stopped clock from an incomplete pass.

I'm with Ryno on the accelerated clock, it makes it much more realistic. 10 seconds at the los only allows one or 2 quick audibles which is perfect.

look, every Madden league i've ever been in the games run from 1-1:10 with about 55-65 plays per team.

that is what im shooting for...

I understand that Ryno, the point of a sim league is to stay sim. I get what your saying.

That said why would we expect guys to do certain things right and then the play clock becomes a huge issue? Dont milk it, make a change or two and go. If guys do that then nothing changes imo.

Now if you get the random clown who milks the clock down, makes ten route changes or audibles then they dont fit the league and they have to go.

I mean if you get to the line with 15 or 35 make a change or two and go..whats the difference?

Not saying your wrong or trying to argue. Just saying why I think it would work if we have guys that understand the focus of our league.

I'd really like it to be close to what I spend on NCAA.

I can deal with that. And as far as stats go, something tells me that we will have inflated stats if we stay on par with real life plays per game. I think some guys are going to put up really big numbers and the others will put up normal stats as the underperforming teams in the league. I could be totally wrong, but I just gotta a feeling........ in my pants.

In my game with Bruce (21-17) we had the following:
    Browns - 50 offensive plays
    Vikings - 57 offensive plays

The OT game between the Saints and Lions (59-56):
    Saints - 62 plays
    Lions - 60 plays

    For reference, last season the:
Saints (#1 total offense) ran 65 (rounded) plays per game.
Jets (#16 total offense) ran 61 (rounded) plays per game.
Bengals (#32 total offense) ran 61 (rounded) plays per game

Scores are pretty high overall, I think Bruce and I had the lowest scoring game.
So, will offenses get better faster than defenses?

Number of plays will go down when we drop quarter length, and we are already at or below reality.

while it would be nice to keep plays realistic we have to keep in mind that all of us are older wit ha lot of stuff going on and 1 1/2 hours to play a game is a bit long especially if you have to restart a game via a disconnect that copuld put you over 2 hours for one game easily.

my game last night took 1 hour on the nose... not sure why a game would go 90 minutes... im not seeing it at 12 min qtrs.

I will try 11, but if the plays are in the 40's, it's not going to work.

Me and Raz's game took just over an hour, but I ran the ball all but two plays in the second half.
