MADDEN SPECIFIC

Are you a previous member of our core group, or a new member of our little family? I was a longtime member of PMFL and 12th Man, decided to step up and lead this group of humps .

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? I consider myself a scrappy cerebral player. I pride myself on the ability to build a team that fits my strengths, rather than being an elite player on the sticks.

What's your offensive philosophy? I like to try to mix it up pretty even between the run and pass. I generally like to carry a speed back and a power back; I like to be able to grind it out smash mouth style, but also bring out the spread and air things out. I tend to have an affinity for the big play though, and that gets me in trouble sometimes.

What's your defensive philosophy? I play an aggressive 4-3 defense usually. I like to have a front four that can get to the quarterback, and linebackers that can cover backs and tight ends. I pride myself on building defenses that can cause turnovers and give my offense short fields.

What is your profession (or are you a student or homemaker)? I am actually embarking on a new career opportunity as we speak. I had been working as a computer technician, but recently accepted a full time job as a sales and leasing consultant at the Chevrolet dealership around the corner from my house. I am hopeful that this turns into a long term career in the industry.

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)? I would have to say Niagara Falls. Went there on my honeymoon and just love the place. A little closer to home (only an hour away) would be Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, OH. Been going there since I was a kid and it's the best amusement park on earth!

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden? I play other games from time to time, but the majority of my video game time is consumed by Madden (in one way or another). Other than games, i am pretty occupied by my family; my wife Shannon, my son Alex (11), and my daughter Tori (9).

I am a computer geek, a gamer nerd, and a car nut.

I love messing with computers and from the first time I built my own computer, I knew I'd never buy a name brand desktop computer again. I am a Microsoft Excel expert and fanatic, and find some weird comfort in playing with spreadsheets.

I have been playing games ever since we got an Atari 2600 when I was like 5. While Madden is obviously #1, i enjoy other sports games, as well as driving, FPS, and some adventure games.

One of my dreams is to someday own a Camaro again. I owned a '79 Z-28 when I was 18, and regret not holding onto that bad boy. Maybe working for a Chevy dealer can help make that dream a possibility .

I am also an Android guy and can't wait to see the next wave of phones coming out later this year.

I hope to someday see my Browns reach the Super Bowl in my lifetime!

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player?

Meat and Potatoes … Play good run defense and run the ball well. I’m not a flashy player…but I’d like to think there is no “give-up” in my teams.


What's your offensive philosophy?

I like to spread the ball around. I enjoy running to set up the pass, but still want to remain unpredictable at the same time.


What's your defensive philosophy?

The first goal always has to be stop the run. After I stop the run, I try to keep the ball in front of me.

Previous owner. 12th Man 2k13 was my first year in this group and it was a great one. I managed the Philadelphia Eagles and went on to win 3 NFC East titles. Although my only NFC Championship appearance ended in a defeat to the Chicago Bears.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player?

Very sim style player. I like to mix up my run/pass plays. I like to talk trades and aim for players who I can make great, instead of ones that are already great.

What's your offensive philosophy?

Mix it up with play calling and exploit my opponents weaknesses once I figure out what they are.

What's your defensive philosophy?

Force turnovers, force turnovers, force turnovers.

I do inside sales for a fastener company. Been here for the past 4 years or so.

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)?

New Olreans, LA. My hometown. And the greatest city in the world. Food, people, music, party. You can’t beat it, I don’t care what you say.

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden?

Spend time with my family, friends, and girl friend. Like to go to concerts and do random fun things like that. Also play fantasy football every year with my boys from back home. And this year I’ll be playing in Tampa’s local sports radio station’s, 620 WDAE, fantasy football league. Draft is held at the Hard Rock casino, so I can’t wait for that sh**! I've also really been getting into golf lately. I try to play as much as possible, still suck, and look forward to taking my first lessons starting today as a matter of fact!

Well I'll be moving in with the girlfriend this coming weekend, huge step, so I'm excited about that. After living 30 minutes away from one another for a whole year, it'll definitely be a welcomed experience. Tops on my bucket list I guess would be to travel the world. A lot of places I would love to see one day. Spain, Italy, the Carribbean, New York, and plenty of other places!

Are you a previous member of our core group, or a new member of our little family? Previous member, this would be my 4th season in this league.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? I'd say middle of the pack. I've had some ups and downs. I've made one SB, in which I got absolutely stomped.

What's your offensive philosophy? I mold my style to the team I have. In my early years, I was all about running the ball and running the west coast offense. In the previous two years, I have been known to sling it. It really all depends on who I end up with. A team with Peyton Manning definitely wouldn't be a run-heavy team.

What's your defensive philosophy? Stop the run & force them to pass. Bait and manipulate the passer with the safety to try and force turnovers.

What is your profession (or are you a student or homemaker)? Data analysis, finance, and grant administrator at Stanford. (just another boring desk job)

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)? Somewhere hot and tropical, it keeps the wife happy and scenary is usually good.

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden? Watch sports, hang out with the wife and dogs, cook, eat, golf, spend time at the gym. I don't have the free time I used to have, but when I get the chance I play other games on PS3 (Call of Duty, exclusives like: Uncharted, The last of Us, etc...)

I love to cook - and my wife will be the first to admit that I'm light years ahead of her in the kitchen. Damn proud of it too. (And I'm definitely better than James. Don't listen to that guy!)

I'm big into health/nutrition and going to the gym - I spent the last 8 months turning around the way I take care of myself. From the kitchen to the gym, every bit adds up and I feel 100% healthier than ever.

I won't call myself a sports car enthusiast, as that would be an insult to the real sports car enthusiasts. But I love fast cars, and currently own a grabber blue 2013 GT that pushes over 460 HP to the flywheel. It might be able to take a prius off the line...

Lifelong suffering Jets fan, just waiting for them to step out of their big brother's spotlight. cry_havoc never lets me hear the end of it, especially with Sanchez at QB. (facepalm)

Recently married, just passed the one year mark, and call it an accomplishment that I successfully survived it (with ease actually) after hearing it was all downhill after the wedding. What a bunch of bullshitters...this marriage thing is cake.

Are you a previous member of our core group, or a new member of our little family? Came in at the end of the 12th cycle, finished out with the Bengals. Didn't get a chance to really interact with anyone though

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? I'm the equivalent of a 35 year old QB in the NFL, who's prime has left him, but still loves the game enough to subject himself through OTA's and training camp, and compete everyday for a spot on the roster. That said, I will occasionally surprise you. I tend to be turnover prone, usually around the middle of the pack...Can whoop up on the cellar dwellers, but get fresh cans of ass whoop opened up on me by the elite...It matters not, cuz I play for fun and sim quality football!
What's your offensive philosophy? I attempt to run first, then pass. Usually at the top of the boards in passing offense, becuz my running game is garbage. I prefer pro-style, no gimmick options or trickery. Usually i-formation, string i, Ace, then Shotgun, is what I would use in that order if I had to choose. Also depends on the team and what personnel I'm working with.

What's your defensive philosophy? Been running the 3-4 for the past two years, think I will stick to it. I like to run Nickel, as it's more versatile for covering or stopping the run. I play Man 75% - 80% of the time. I do blitz to try and cause turnovers, Zone coverage usually on 3rd and long only, and still sometimes use a man coverage. I use hot routes on D often, to double up on elite players, or to cover flats if I'm getting spammed by the screen or dump off pass.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? I have my ups and downs, I'm more of a middle of the pack type of player. I might make the playoffs but probably not far into them

What's your offensive philosophy? Screw clock management, my philosophy is CLOCK DOMINATION! I take a very methodical approach to offense I like to keep the ball in my QB's hands I'm happy if at the end of the game I've won the TOP war. In my mind the best defense is an effective slow paced offense.

What's your defensive philosophy? get to the QB, I love pressuring the QB I make it my mission when it comes to drafting and trading to beef up my D Line as best as possible. I want opposing QBs to have nightmares about my defense thus causing mistakes.

What is your profession (or are you a student or homemaker)? I am a stay at home dad for my three kids, it's probably the best yet most stressful job on the planet. My wife was making a lot more money than me so we decided to ensure we were the ones raising our kids that I would stay home while she worked rather than trusting our kids future to a daycare.

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)? Don't have much travel experience but the place I enjoyed the most was Washington D.C. so much history there and probably the most humbling experience was watching the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden? I play other games such as NCAA, and MLB The Show but outside of video games I love to write and play music.

First and foremost my greatest achievement would have to be my son and my twin daughters, I never once in my life imagined that I would be a father and it is the one thing in life that has made me the happiest. Aside from fatherhood I would rate my music near the top. I have written an recorded with many different bands over the years and my bucket list falls along with it as well. I'd love to get a chance to play a huge arena since currently the largest crowd I've performed for was around 130 people.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? I'd like to say im a reliable owner. The word Sim really makes this game enjoyable in every aspect. This literally is the next best thing besides playing the damn sport, so i treat it like the real thing. Practice makes perfect, right? I enjoy studying personel and especially my opponent from week to week. I take pride in my stick skills and are all about strategy. Ive had some success in this league and will attempt to keep that going. Last but not least...i respect my opponents to the very end.

What's your offensive philosophy? Picking apart the defenses brain. Power football, high percentage passes and efficient playcalling.

What's your defensive philosophy? Conservative but the main focus is to force the offense into making turnovers. Then cashing in

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)? Paradise Cove in Malibu, CA is my joint. The best getaway hands down. And the ass there is serious(my gf would hate that comment)
What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden? I am what you would call a hobby hyrid. Im an athlete and musician all rolled into one. I enjoy writing new music...and i enjoy playing pick up Bball, Flag Football or my Adult Amatuer Baseball league.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? Sim player. Don't make excuses for a loss. They all happen, just part of the game.

What's your offensive philosophy? I'm more geared to the pass. It all depends on personnel though. I adapt my style to the players I have.

What's your defensive philosophy? 3-4 defense. I used to like the blitz but switched out of the blitz to a more conservative approach and it produced results.

What is your profession (or are you a student or homemaker)? I'm a land surveyor and have worked at the same engineering firm for the last 13 years.

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)? Vegas. Love the weather and love the atmosphere. I don't go to the strip much, but hang out at the house and in our pool.

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden? I have a newborn baby so he takes much of my time. If I do have free time I like to do competition BBQ.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? I'd say I'm an average player at best, you can beat your ass I'll give you a run for your money though.
What's your offensive philosophy? I try to run a balanced attack. It was hard as hell for me running the ball M13 so I tossed it around a little more than I liked.
What's your defensive philosophy? Stop the run! Then hold on for dear life cuz my stick skills usually get me in trouble!

What is your profession (or are you a student or homemaker)? Part of a family owned general contracting business, focusing mostly on painting.

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why?) I've been on a couple of cruises to Mexico (Acapulco, Matazlan, Puerta Vallerta to name a few destinations) and those were great but in 2005 I got to travel to Costa Rica for a poker tournment and that was a totally different animal.

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden? Try to spend as much time with my family as I can. I've got a son who's starting his Sophomore year in college and my daughter is a Senior in High School. Let me tell ya time flies fast, don't take it for granted!

Nothing better than watching them grow from babies into fantastic young adults. Besides that I'm a pretty simple guy that likes to chill, occasionally indulge in an adult beverage or two, travel to Vegas as many times as possible (heading there this weekend as a matter of fact) and just enjoy the many blessings in my life.

I've been with the crew for a while now.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player?
I'm an average Madden player. I make the playoffs here and there and have never made it past a Conference Championship. Only one appearance in 8 years of league play, so roughly 24+ seasons give or take. On average, I'm a .500 baller depending on my team and how effective I am with their defensive scheme. I could care less if I win or lose, I just enjoy a good chess match that is decided in the final minutes/seconds of the game.

What's your offensive philosophy?
Control the clock. Keep the opposing defense on the field early and often with the intent to tire them into submission.

What's your defensive philosophy?
Stop the run and force my opponent to pass. Mix up my coverages in attempt to keep the opponent guessing. If you're going to beat me, I'm going to force you to do it through the air.

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)?
I can't name just one. Boston is an amazing city. I loved Denver so much that I was going to move there if it hadn't been for meeting my wife in WI. Believe it or not, I enjoy going to Green Bay with the family each year. If you ever get a chance to visit Lambeau Field or go to a game there, do it. I grew up on Lake Superior and love to be there during the summer/fall. In my mind I'd love to tour Europe, go on a safari in Africa, spend some time on an island in the Caribbean, lose my breath in Rio, or walk the beaches of Hawaii. However, I'm not made of money so I take more of a realist approach. I'm just a homebody who loves to watch sports and hang with the fam. If I get the opportunity to travel other places, I will.

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden?
I love hanging with my wife and kids. The time keeps whizzing by, so I want to capture as many moments as I can. When I'm not with the fam, I'm whipping something up in the kitchen, out running, or at the gym.

What's your offensive philosophy? Balance. I like to utilize many players to make it hard for the defense to key on one guy in hopes of stopping me.
What's your defensive philosophy? I pride myself on getting the offense in 3rd and long and forcing turnovers. Being a Steelers fan, i love the 3-4 and using a zone blitz scheme to keep the offense on their toes.

How would you describe yourself as a Madden player? I would describe myself as an avid Madden player, and a pretty decent one at that. Madden is the only game I buy year in and year out. It has always been a source of therapy to help clear the mind and get away from all of the stress life tends to bring.

What's your offensive philosophy? I love to mix things up and keep it as realistic as possible. I take pride in being able to run a realistic balanced offense while mixing up my formations and personel groupings, all while confussing my oppenent.

What's your defensive philosophy? Exotic. I love mixing up my looks - constantly swticing between man and zone coverages, combining man and zone, and blitz blitz blitz. To steal a quote from coachmimz20 "Think Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan sharing a turkey with Buddy Ryan."

I am currently working in Minor League Baseball as an Account Executive for the Nashville Sounds - Triple AAA Affilitae of the Milwaukee Brewers; however, I am in the process of looking to go back to school to receive my Masters in Education to become either a high school Business Education/Marketing teacher or for special education.

What is your favorite travel spot you have been to (and why)? Anywhere. I enjoy traveling in general - nothing like going somewhere new for a weekend get away.

What do you like to do when you are not playing Madden? Enjoy the outdoors, spending time with family, playing/coaching sports, and attending sporting events and concerts. Have recently started reading more and trying to learn new skills - knowledge is power.

So far my biggest accomplishment has been graduating college. I was blessed enough to be able to play collegiate football (TE) and baseball (P), while also receiving a great education.

I recently made my first trip out to Texas to see the Boys' play the Giants for the season opener and I cannot wait to go back!!
