    Game #1 vs Illinois
Arkansas St gave it all they got against Illinois, but came up short in their rally with a few minutes left. At the beginning of the 4th, Arkansas St looked like they had a chance to win as they led 17-14. The Red Wolves D came up big after a punt return that had Illinois backed up at the 20 yd line. The Illinois RB fumbled and Ark St recovered. But the celebration was shortlived as the Ark St QB was intercepted at the 5 yd line. Turnovers were his undoing as he threw 3 INTs which were a big reason why the Red Wolves couldn't pull off the upset.

    Game #2 vs Cincinatti
Arkansas St came up on the losing end of another close game. The game seemed at hand when they were at the Cincy 25 with 2 minutes left tied 14-14, but once again they missed their chance by missing a 40 yd FG off the uprights. Cincy came back out and on their first play threw a 73 yard TD and added another on the ground with 30 seconds left to take the lead 28-14. Arkansas St's season won't get any easier heading to Blacksburg next week against #13 Virginia Tech.

    Game #3 vs Virginia Tech
Arkansas State bounced back after 2 losses and did the unthinkable... they beat Virginia Tech. (Virginia Tech was ranked outside the Top 25 at #26 after getting blown out 38-7 vs USF last week) The Red Wolves defense get the game ball as they picked off a pass and recovered a fumble giving them the short field all game. After going up 14-0, VT got into gear driving down the field 2 consecutive drives to tie it up 14-14 going into the 4th quarter. Arkansas St was able to force a punt which gave them the ball at midfield and they pounded the rock all the way down the field to score with 41 seconds left to go up 21-14. VT was not out of it yet as they drove to midfield with just under 30 seconds left. The Red Wolves D stepped up again, swatting away passes on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th down to seal the victory. After the game RB Lawson said that he "had to put the team on his back and carry them to victory." That was the case, as he scored 2 TDs in the victory.

    Game #4 vs FCS East
The Red Wolves used a balanced attack to put away the FCS East Rhinos. QB Aplin finally made some noise, throwing for 266yds and 4TDs, three which were to Stockemer. Aplin also threw 3 INTs in the first half. The Arkansas State ground game also scored some points: Derek Lawson carrying it 11 times for 125 yds and 2 TDs. Jermaine Robertson, the 2nd string back also got some time running 3 times for 61 yards (long of 54) and a TD.

    Game #5 vs UL Monroe
The Red Wolves had the game in their hands, but couldn't finish after getting stuffed on 4th and inches at the 30 down by 4. Larsen was instrumental in scoring points for ASU scoring 2TD early, but couldn't get the inch needed to get a first down and a potential game tying drive.

    Game #6 vs FIU
A few words could describe their game with FIU... "throttled", "manhandled", "destroyed". Arkansas State struggled the whole game after a playing tough defense in first quarter, where they were down 7-0. At half time, it was 31-7 and when all was said and done, FIU put up 58 points to the Red Wolves 14.

The only high points were a great TD pass right before the half and in the 4th in which a FIU defender swatted the ball and the ASU WR caught it then hurdled the defender for the score. Arkansas St needs to regroup for next week's tough game.
