Shocker: Athletic Club Bilbao Announce kaptainkracker1
In a move that rocked the football world today, kaptainkracker1 has been lured out of retirement once again to take the helm of Spanish club Bilbao. Kap is best known for his time at Fulham where in the inagural TFS season he led the English club to a second place finish in Serie B and alongside Bilbao and Werder Bremen were the first three clubs to be promoted to Serie A. After that, Fulham and Kap spent three seasons mid-table in the top flight before an unexpected retirement.
After sitting one season out, Kap returned for season 6 with Russian powerhouse Dinamo Moscow. He led the Russians to a third place finish in Serie B and a spot in the promotion tournament, however a sudden lifestyle change forced a second retirement.
Now we see Kap make a second return and this time his destination is Biscay, Spain and the third tier Serie C. When asked about his decision to returned, kap responded "I've had some changes in my life and have been forced to sit out more than I would have liked. My heart is in football and TFS and I couldn't pass up a chance to manage a club like Bilbao. So much talent. We have an opportunity to do big things.''

    Match Summary
What a match! Athletic Bilbao played fantastic football through out but Olympiakos prevailed. Olympiakos started it with beautiful ball movement to score an early goal off the right foot of David Fuster. After that Athletic picked up the pace and played even better then Olympiakos through into the middle of the 2nd half. Chance after chance Athletic couldn't put together a goal until the 65th minute where Aduriz found a crack in the defense and leveled the score. Olympiakos then picked up the pace and it was a back and forth battle till the end where Paulo Macardo take a shot from out of the box and puts it into the bottom corner of the goal. Athletic played better for most of the game but you have to make the most of your opportunities in TSO football and Olympiakos was just a more efficient team today

Athletic Bilbao and Borussia M'gladbach met for the first time this year in a very heated and physical match. Much of the first 45 minutes was spent feeling each other out and the ball was frequently turned over by both sides at midfield. Early in the second half, however, the Spaniards came out firing. Los Leones striker Aduriz opened the scoring with back to back goals just 3 minutes apart. Anders Herrera was credited with the first assist, but Aduriz deserves all of the credit as he tore through the German club's back line and ripped a shot passed the keeper. The second goal came off of a nice through ball from Fernando Llorente and was tapped in just before the rushing keeper could get his body on it.
Immediately following the second goal, M'gladbach manager Selvy9 dug into his bench for forward Peniel Mlapa. Within just 1 minute of his arrival on the pitch, Mlapa sent a laser into net to bring the game to within one. After a Mikel San Jose yellow card, Mlapa put a free kick into the wall. Minutes later Mlapa found Luke de Jong for an easy goal to tie the game.
M'gladbach seemed guaranteed to take over the game and steal 3 points from Bilbao. Until Muniain gained a step on his man on the left side of the 18. Muniain sent the ball in where it found the head of Iturraspe. The initial shot beat the keeper but not the post, but Iturraspe snagged his own rebound 2 yards out and put the ball into the net to put his club back on top for good.

    Coppa Tradizione Groups Drawn:
The annual Coppa Tradizione drew groups today. Athletic Bilbao will be hoping to make a splash this year despite the lack of cup success of manager kaptainkracker1 throughout his career. The Serie C club was drawn into a group with Marseille, Anzhi, and PSV Eindhoven.

In their first group match of the yearly Coppa Tradizione, Athletic Bilbao were unable to capitalize on a solid performance against Marseille. Bilbao controlled play early and often and dominated in shots on target 8 to 2, but their early Serie C struggle continued into cup play towards a 0-0 draw. "@GoDevils managed a hell of a game and his defenders did a superb job of keeping us off of the scoresheet. We got some shots on net, but right at the keeper. They gave us no better windows,'' said manager kaptainkracker1 after the draw. Both teams were eager to get an early start in the always tough group stages.

Four games, four wins for Sporting Lisbon following Wednesday night's 3-0 win over Athletic Bilbao. Andre Carillo opened the scoring nine minutes into the game, taking a through ball from Ricky van Wolfswinkel, outrunning the defense, and slotting the ball near side. Twenty-three minutes later, Zakaria Labyad received the ball on the left side of the box and cut towards the middle, shrugging off the defense and shooting the ball into the net to make the score 2-0. Then in the 45th minute, van Wolfswinkel scored for the second game in a row, dummying a pass from Diego Capel and running onto it before finishing far side.

Athletic Bilbao and Anzhi Makhachkala met in this weeks second group stage match. The two teams proved to be quite equal through 90 minutes. Both clubs would net one on their way to a single point. Bilbao started of the scoring after an Anzhi foul from just inside 30 yards. Susaeta set up alone for the free kick attempt and sent the ball up and over the wall. The Russian keeper put a hand on the ball but it deflected in for the 1-0 lead. The score would stay the same going into the half. Just three minutes into the second half, however, Samuel Eto'o sent a cross in that found Lucina Traore's head and was blown passed Iraizoz for the equalizer. Both teams would trade opportunities late in the match, but would find the net no more. With all teams in Group C having two matches under their belts, Broncos218 and Go Devils are at the top of the group with 4 points. kaptainkracker1 falls in third with 2 points and redwings8831 rounds the group out with 0 points thus far.

Athletic Bilbao put up a dominate performance early Saturday en route to a 1-0 victory over Everton. The Spanish club put up 19 shots, 9 of them on net, and controlled 58% of the play. The Everton midfield was overpowered as Bilbao's attacking mids and forwards imposed their will. Despite the clear edge in play Bilbao was unable to find the net in the first half. Fernando Llorente sent a scorcher passed Tim Howard that rung off the left post in the 14th minute of play. Llorente also sent two shots just over the far side crossbar from 18. In the 71st minute, however, Bilbao's hard work paid off. Susaeta cut in from his wing position and sent a left footed shot at Howard. The keeper deflected the ball up and out on his way to the ground. Howard popped up quickly but was unable to beat Aduriz to the ball who headed it in for the lone goal of the match.

    Athletic Bilbao Fail To Advance:
After draws in all three group stage matches, Athletic Bilbao will fail to advance in the Coppa Tradizione. They will continue to battle for silverware in the lower tiered Coppa Confederazione where they will meet Hannover 96 in the round of 16.
