The Atlanta Falcons had a very successful year. Going 14-2 in the regular season before getting knocked out in the 2nd Round of the playoffs by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The year was highlighted by an Offensive Explosion(almost 8000 yards) that had many experts compare to the likes of the St. Louis Rams and the "Greatest Show on Turf" .

It was lead by emerging superstar Matt Ryan as he put together one of the best seasons ever by a QB. He threw for 6174 yards and 58 touchdowns. He did so while completing nearly 70% of his passes and led the league in passer rating with a 129.5.

There was no secret in who emerged as Ryan's favorite targets as the duo of White and Gonzalez were #1, and #2 in the league in nearly every receiving category. White led the way with 133 catches for 2407 yards and 25 touchdowns. Gonzalez was not too far behind his counterpart with 120 catches for 1882 yards and 19 touchdowns. Harry Dauglas and Rookie Sealii Davis both contributed to the Falcons attack. as both were able to grab in over 50 catches, while Douglas amassed over 1000 yards himself.

While Ryan and the passing attack got all the headlines and attention, Michael Turner had quietly put together a big pro bowl season on the ground. Turner rushed for 1473 yards and 19 touchdowns.

So after looking at those numbers, the Falcons have a lot to look forward to on the offensive side of the ball going into next season. They are going to wine and dine Gonzalez into staying at least one more year, as the rest of the team is realitively young and in their primes.

With all this being said, not everything was peaches and cupcakes this year for the Falcons. On the Defensive side of the ball, the Falcons struggled to stop teams all year. They were taken advantage of all year in the air, and seemed to have virtually no answer to slow things down.

The team is young, and will only get better as they continue to grow and get some missing pieces around them. An emphasis on Defense will be at a major priority for this Falcons team as they gear up for another successful year.

The Falcons are confirming some rumors that RBs Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood are both being shopped. In addition, Falcons will field any interested teams in the services of Michael Jenkins, Sealii Davis, Harry Douglas, Kyle Myers (OL 5th overall in last years draft).

The Falcons are looking to find more balance this year and are offering some Offensive weapons in return for defensive starters. OLB, MLB, DE are biggest needs.

The Falcons are also willing to part ways with their 1st round draft pick if the the right offer is available.

Please check the trade block to see more details.
