    ATTENTION: FINALIZED POSITION CHANGE RULE

Due to the recent updates to our salary cap system, we had to revisit our recent rule on player position changes. With this new rule owners DO NOT have to notify the league of any depth chart moves as long as they fall within the written guidelines.

Formation Subs using R3 during play selection IS ALLOWED but will fall under our mixing up of playcalling rule and is not to be overabused or used in incorrect situations.

Example, LB @ DE in passing situations, 4-6 Speed package against multiple WR sets.

Any owner caught violating this rule will be subject to league reprimand.

QB can only be played by a QB
HB can only be played by a HB
FB can only be played by a FB & TE
TE can only be played by a TE & FB
WR can only be played by a WR & TE
T can only be played by a T
    G can only be played by a G & C
    C can only be played by a C & G
LE can only be played by a LE, RE & DT
RE can only be played by a RE, LE & DT
DT can only be played by a DT
LOLB can only be played by a LOLB, ROLB & MLB
ROLB can only be played by a LOLB, ROLB & MLB
MLB can only be played by a MLB
CB can only be played by a CB - 4th string CB may be a FS or SS
SS can only be played by a SS, FS or 4th string CB
FS can only be played by a FS, SS or 4th string CB

**4th string will be considered your 4th rated player at that position.**

Wait, so now with this rule, I can move Dwight Lowery to FS since he is my 4th CB behind Revis, Cromartie, and Wilson?

If he has a 1 modifier, absolutely, sir. So you can emulate Rex's plan in Madden. :)

***But if he's still your top FS then he will be paid a 2 modifier still, even if he only plays your #4 CB***

I am not sure if I am getting what your serving here Dunlap.

Under this new system, the cap book is not affected at all even if the players rating goes up a little at the new position.

Thats how I understand it anyways.

What dun is saying is if the guy is (by overall) ranked as his #1 FS and he chooses to only use him as the #4 cb and not as the #1 FS, the guy still gets paid as a #1 FS since that is all done by overall and not where they actually play.

    Gotcha.

What confused me was that Scikotic was asking about moving a CB to FS and not a FS to CB.

No sir. The first position is the actual position, the 2nd positions are who can play that first position. So on WR a WR or a TE can play WR on TE only a TE or FB can play TE.

Lets say i acquire a FS who has the overall rating to be my #1 CB, Can he line up and play as my number one CB? The way its stated above says to me that FS can only be moved to CB if there are three CBs with higher overalls at that position. Why on earth would someone want to move a FS to CB if there are three players already ranked higher on the depth chart....

The player in question(Eric Berry) passed all the rules under the previous guidelines to play ANY cb spot(under the new rules as it states, FS that were banned to play CB under the old position guidelines now can), and ive been making moves to surround him with talent... with the change, it looks like a stuck with two starting quality FSs and neither of them can be moved to CB...

Sorry bluebean and jethro, depending on the answer i get, i may have to back out of this trade, even though he is my favorite rookie and its been agreed on under the table for months now. Just the fact that im losing my best defensive player and may not even be able to line him up at CB to fill the void for a year.

FYI, could care less about what modifier he gets, i had already taken into account that he would have been paid 10 mill a season for life.

Lol, Just because everything to do with money in the NFL is complicated, doesnt mean the OMFL has to be by default because we are sim league:)

Under the rules you cannot play a FS higher than your #4 CB position. So you could play Berry at the #4 CB spot all day. However if we find that you were using him as your #3 CB then that'd be a big no no.

If for some reason Berry is changed to a CB with the upcoming roster realease we would allow you to play him at any CB spot.

    You can do that Savante.

DEs can play DT but DTs cannot play DE.

Actually that's incorrect. Only DTs can play the DT position...much as only MLBs can play the MLB position.

So Seymour (sp) could not play DT.
