Auburn Rolls the Tide in Tuscaloosa

Auburn and new coach, Coach Ceps, were looking to get off to a good start together and they got the ultimate test against arch rival Alabama. This edition of the Iron Bowl would not prove to be a classic as so many Iron Bowls have been. The Auburn Tigers kicked off to start the game and their tough defense stoned Alabama on it's first drive. Auburn got the ball and struck quickly. Newton got a pitch on the corner and a broken tackle and 50 yards later he found himself in the endzone. Alabama got the ball back and looked to respond with their own td. After a first down things went very wrong for the Crimson Tide offense. A big hit forced a fumble that was scooped and scored by the Auburn defense giving them a 14-0 lead. After another two stops and two quick scores Auburn found themselves up a comfortable 28-0. From then on out the Tigers would put it into cruise control. Alabama would manage to get one touchdown but Auburn would add on a couple of TDs and a field goal. Auburn took home the victory by a final of 45-7. Next week Auburn will face a weaker Ball State team in the regular season finale.

Auburn Destroys Ball State in Season Finale

The #15 Auburn Tigers took on the Ball State Cardinals in the regular season finale, and as expected took care of business. Despite the fact that Ball State was 8-3 (7-1) entering the game they were clearly outmatched by the strength and speed of the Tigers. Auburn out gained the inferior Cardinals 470-94. Auburn ran for 224 and threw for 246 while Ball State only mustered 18 yards rushing and 76 yards passing. Ball State was 0-6 on third down compared to 10-11 for Auburn. Ball State never entered the redzone and Auburn made six trips scoring touchdowns on every single one. This domination was seen on the scoreboard as Auburn won the game 49-0 even thought the backups played most of the second half. Auburn will now sit and wait to see what bowl game they will be heading to. The Tigers finish the season 9-3 and (6-2) in the tough SEC.
