Down 13 late in the 3rd Johnson fumbled the ball away on the UCF 3 yard line. Colorado's defense, however, got the ball right back on an interception by Tavares Hawkins. Sophomore RB Brad Carter was able to scamper into the endzone from 4 yards out to cut the lead to six. Colorado was ale to drive down the filed on the strength on QB Nick Hirschmann's passing to take a 1 point lead in the middle of the forth.
