    Aztec Season Preview 2011

San Diego State Aztec 2011 Preview

The Aztecs are definitely looking to have a similar 2011 season in comparison to 2010. The Aztecs finished 12-1 after starting the season 11-0, they were the Poinsettia Bowl Champions and 2nd in the MWC behind rival UNLV. The Aztecs lost a couple key players including: All American DE BJ Williams and leading WR Derek Deakin, but they also return a key group of starters on offense and defense.

"We are looking to show everyone that last year wasn't a fluke," said Coach E "I feel with the core group of guys we have, that we could do some special things."

    2011 Schedule

    Week 1 : Ole Miss
    Week 2 : Air Force
    Week 3 :#18 Stanford
    Week 4 : UNLV
    Week 5 : BYU
    Week 6 : Washington State
    Week 7 : Utah
    Week 8 : New Mexico
    Week 9 : #21 TCU
    Week 10 : Syracuse
    Week 11 : Colorado State
    Week 12 : Wyoming

Offensive Outlook: Returning for the Aztecs is Junior QB, team leader, and captain Ryan Lindley who is coming off a solid Sophomore season and looking to be one of the leading offensive players in the MWC. Also, Junior HB Walter Kazee who is coming off a breakout season is looking to be a Heisman candidate for the Aztecs

Defensive Outloook: The defensive is a big question mark for the Aztecs who lost 2 of their most elusive pass rushers, this will be a key in their success or lack there of. OLB Cody Galae and CB Jose Perez are both returning as Freshman All Americans.

Follow the Aztecs on their journey through the 2011 NCAA Football Season.

SDSU is a team on the rise. Question is if the coach gets a different coaching offer is he leaving?

Coach E has always stated he's an Aztec at heart and has pledged his loyalty, but he is an Iowa alum so who knows what would happen should that job open up ;)
