For some of those who may be interested in this classic PC RPG being upgraded and re-released, I recently conducted an interview with the creative director and long time Bioware employee Trent Oster about the game. I am involved with a retro gaming podcast and I was able to get with Trent on Skype and cover a lot of the stuff about the game.

For those who don't know, this game and series is considered one of the best western or PC RPGs of all time and a personal favorite of mine. Bioware billed Dragon Age as the spiritual successor to it.

So if you are interested, check it out: http://www.racketboy.com/podcast/racketboy-podcast-42-trent-oster

I'll take a listen this week Mustang - I'm psyched about this game coming back. Baldurs Gate and Baldurs Gate II are hands down my favorite PC RPG's of all time.

No, I haven't yet. It's coming out for the iphone's as well right? I was thinking I might get it for that so I have something to play when my kids dominate the TV....

While making it available on the tablet is really cool, and should be a good business decision, I definitely want the bigger screen and mouse and keyboard treatment for the game.

Unfortunately for me, between NCAA and Madden coming out, my only chance of playing this game will be when the kids are occupied by the TV or I'd be there with ya.

From these comments, I assume you have your main gaming PC hooked up to your TV as its monitor?

No, I should clarify, my wife would kill me if I locked myself in the office (where the PC is) to play a game while the kids are rampaging through my house. But I can use my phone to surf the web while they watch a show, chase the dogs, beat each other silly, etc....and I don't get in trouble for that.

I tried to play BG2 a few months ago but couldn't handle the archaic clunky interface and controls. Are the revamping everything? Graphics and interface, et al?

They are cleaning up the graphics and resolution, but same art. the source code and art is gone. The UI will be retooled and changed up.

Listen to the interview I linked, we talk about almost all the details and questions.
