    MOVIE STAR MICHAEL OHER RESIGNS!
RT: Michael "Blind Side" Oher resigns with the Ravens, signing a 6 year deal worth 33.83 M, 5.50M in signing bonuses. Michael is a nasty run blocker but has been focusing more on pass protection, he is evolving in to a elite tackle.

    Ravens Off Season Team Outlook.

The Ravens parted ways with many veterans after the Superbowl run of 2012. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed both decided they had enough. Center and Left Guard Birk and Williams also decided to hang it up. Losing the said players lost the Ravens a combined half a century of experience in the NFL. All star FB Vonta Leach was also let go during the offseason due to a contract dispute with Ravens management. The only other notable Raven not on the 2013 roster is Bernard Pollard who lost his starting job mid way through last season to SS Christian Thompson who is playing strong.

The Ravens were not expecting Ed Reed to exit the program after just signing a contract extension in to the 2016 season. Ray Lewis was expected, and was hurt most of the season last year. Not having both T. Suggs and R. Lewis through most of the year was rough but the other backers stepped up. Now with Suggs back and Lewis gone, Upshaw, Kruger, Kindle and top free agent MLB Jovan Belcher will pick up the slack.

With Ed Reed's abrupt decision the Ravens had only one player in mind in the 2013 Draft, SS Jordan Sherrod. The Ravens began negotiations to trade down within in the top 10 to grab Jordan. A few teams were able to trade down successfully which hurt the Ravens ability to move down. The 13, and 19th pick were available but the Ravens management didn't believe he'd last outside the top 10. The Ravens stuck gold when both the Chicago Bears (7) and the New Orleans Saints (4) were interested in a picks & players deal. The Bears were unable to make the draft and get the finer points worked out so the Ravens went all in on the Saints #4 pick. Sending 2013 1st & 2nd round picks, 2014 1st & 3rd picks and WR Johnny Knox in the deal. A steep price but with Thompson & Sherrod playing deep the safeties in Baltimore are set for the next decade.
    Noteable Free Agent pick ups:
    WR: Ben Tate
Tate was brought in along with Kevin Ogletree to a add a deep threat and speed option to a very mediocre receiving corps. Torry Smith was injured half the year last year, and is already hurt this year. So both of these individuals will need to step up. Also un-drafted rookie WR R. Parks will also see a lot of playing time with his 95 Speed, and solid hands.
    MLB: Jovan Belcher
Ray Lewis decides to retire, insert JB! There is no replacing the Hall of Fame LB Lewis but with Suggs back coupled with Belcher and the rest of the team, the Ravens will be ok.

    CB: Tracy Porter
Porter will play the slot role in a pass happy NFL. Adding Porter provides an elite nickle corner and a solid backup if Webb or Smith go down to injury this year.

    DeVIER POSEY JOINS RAVENS
The Ravens and Texans agree in terms to send THE' Ohio State Star to B'more to join fellow Buckeye Brian Robiskie. The move sent the Ravens 2014 4th round pick. Posey should add more depth and sure hands.

RAVENS 2013 NFL DRAFT / 53 MAN ROSTER

    Sherrod.jpg
1st Round Pick (From New Orleans Saints)
    SS - Jordan Sherrod 6'0" 196 / 80 OVR - 81 ZCV, 78 TAK, 83 POW, 93 SPD, 80 AWR

The #1 player on the Ravens big board, Sherrod was highly sought after, after his apperance in the Senior Bowl and personal workouts on campus. After Ed Reed retired there was no doubt the Ravens had to make a move to get this kid. Sherrod has played great through 3 games, second on the team in tackles and has 1 interception on the year.

    Orr.jpg
    4th Round Pick
    DT - Jahmeek Orr 6'3" 304 / 66 OVR 81 BSH, 70 PMV, 78 FMV, 78 SPD

Orr was brought end to add size and SPEED to the edge in a 3 man rush. Orr weighs in a 304, and what he lacks in strength he makes up for in speed which is at 78. Orr will mainly play LE in relief for McPhee. He will also play DT on passing downs to add a speed presence.

    Anderson.jpg
    7th Round Pick (Mr. Irrelevant)
    P - Lincoln Anderson 5'11" 222 80 OVR - 99 KPW, 77 KAC

In the last pick in the 2013 Draft Anderson was taken as Mr. Irrelevant as a unscouted, projected undrafted rookie. This kid is a gem with NINTY NINE kick power. He reguarly puts the ball out of the field of play on kick offs, and has the leg to drive the ball deep on punts.

    ROOKIES SIGNED IN FREE AGENCY

    Parks.jpg
    WR - Rodney Parks 5'10" 204 / 74 OVR - 75 CTH, 78 CIT, 95 SPD, 96 ACC

Parks an undrafted rookie was invited to mini camp after a YouTube video went viral with him out running Jeff Demps in a foot race. Parks was a SOLID addition and currently mixes in the slot and #4 reciever. He has seen plenty of playing time with early injuries to Torry Smith and Brandon Tate.

    Henry.jpg
    CB - Dequarius Henry 6'2" 190 / 68 OVR - 85 MCV, 84 PRC, 73 PRS, 90 JMP, 92 SPD

Henry was brought in because of his size, at 6'2" he provides a big body in the event the Ravens starters go down and they face a big body receiver. 6'2" with 90 jump, 84 man coverage and 92 speed Henry is a work in progress but is a workout freak who made the cut.

Cary Williams speaks with CSN's reporter about his name being mentioned in trade rumors following the week 4 win over the Seattle Seahawks. "Well it's been a long time coming now, well since last season. It's time I turn the page, I look forward to playing within the NY Giants origination and getting back on the field in to some sort of starting role" ... The trade sends the NY Giants 2014 3rd round selection to the Ravens for Williams. Williams should be an instant upgrade in the troubled Giants secondary and will provide a great man to man option for the G Men.

Lavonte David didn't clear waivers as the Ravens opted to pick up his contract. He will provide pass coverage at the LB position which is desperately needed in Baltimore.

    2014 Ravens FA signings
    WR- Mike Williams::3stars:
Mike will become the Ravens #1 WR after the departure of Anquan Boldin. Torrey Smith belongs as a #2 or 3 even.

WR - Arrelious Benn: :1stars:Benn will struggle to stay on the active roster and was a backup plan if Williams didn't sign. Benn would see work out of the "X" position due to his run blocking ability.

TE - Charles Clay: :2stars:Clay will be the teams 3rd string TE and backup FB. Adding solid depth to a very injury prone TE section.

MLB - Daryl Washington::5stars: The highly sought after middle linebacker decided to come take over for the retired Ray Lewis. Lewis was the one who gave him the final speech which pulled Washington to Baltimore. Washington will step in and add an instant impact at the linebacker position. His addition marks the end of Jovan Belcher.

ROLB - D.J. Williams::4stars: After being chased out of Denver by the sensation Von Miller. The Ravens were happy to pick up his versatility and leadership. Williams solid speed, great tackling and superb cover skills allow the Ravens to run a 4-3 with out having moron LBs attempting to cover down field.

    Ravens 2014 Draft Class
    draft2014.jpg
Being selected in the second round was LT Travis Montana who was actually the #2 Tackle on the Ravens big board. Being the highest rated tackle left come late second round the Ravens got their man. Montana will look to replace the aging Bryan McKinny in the near future.
Next was the fiery LG Carl Gallego. Gallego was a story line player who showed attitude on the field, being ejected once and was voted ACC's dirties player. The Ravens staff know the can tame this kid and focus his aggression towards the opponents on the field. Carl will push current LG Jah Ried for playing time early this year.
Lastly RB Terrell Brown was taken to push for RB#2 snaps behind Ray Rice. Brown was the Ravens top rated RB after round 3. With 98 acceleration, solid speed and a mean spin move this kid will be the future when the miles start adding up on Mr. Rice.

Looks like RB Jon Stewart of the Panthers is on the market. Please look into it, as anything that lessens the Panther's roster...is a good thing for the NFC.
