Things were ugly early as the Thunder were down 17-2. A late 1st period rally cut the lead to 24-18 at the 1st break. From then on it was the Russell Westbrook - Joe Johnson show. Westbrook exploded for 19 3rd quarter points as the Thunder regained the lead and never gave it back.

With 2 minutes to go in the game, the Hawks brought it within 2 points at 91-89. The Thunder clamped down though and did not allow a basket the rest of the way, preserving the win on opening night.

    Westbrook - 41pts, 3 boards, 3 assists
    Durant - 25pts, 11 boards
    Harden - 13pts

Joe Johnson finished with 38 points and 8 boards

The Thunder led wire to wire in this one, once again led by Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, and Serge Ibaka on the defensive end was a beast all night. The Spurs shot just 3-22 from three point land, allowing 30 fast break points for OKC. The game was close again, late in the 4th, but an 8-0 run for OKC put this one to bed. OKC moves to 2-0 on the young season, and travels to Toronto this saturday to take on the Raptors

    Durant - 25pts, 5 Boards
    Westbrook - 28 points, 6 boards, 5 assists
    Ibaka - 10 points, 11 boards, and 5 blocks

    Parker - 30 points

Bucks jumped out to an early lead but the Hornets would rally and take a 39-38 lead into the half. After the half the Bucks found themselves down by 10 midway through the third until rookie Tobias Harris came off the bench and gave the Bucks an offensive surge to regain the lead. Brandon Jennings took over in the 4th as the Bucks found themselves with a 6 point lead with less than a minute to go. After an Eric Gordon 3 cut the lead in half then Larry Sanders was forced to take a jumper to beat the shot clock that he missed and gave New Orleans one last chance to tie the game and Trevor Ariza had an open look but it clanged off the rim to end the game.

Brandon Jennings- 18 Pts 13 Ast
    Stephen Jackson- 17 pts

    Eric Gordon- 26 Pts
Carl Landry- 18 Pts 9 Reb

    Nuggets 80
    Lakers 93

A back and forth game between these two squads with the Nuggets controlling the first half, but the Lakers battled back in the second with push from Matt Barnes who had 16 second half points. Kobe Bryant opened the season with a bang going for 39 points, and Pau didnt disappoint providing 16 points and 15 key boards. The Nuggets really gashed the Lakers inside though with rookie Faried who had 10 points and 18 rebounds! It wasnt enough though as the Lake show was determined to get the victory.

    Lakers 113
    Jazz 94

The Black Mamba was in full effect in this game vs Juan Valencia and his Utah Jazz. He provided 34 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal along with a 15-22 FG performance. It took a team effort to get the victory though, with 10 guys scoring at least 3 points. The 4th quarter proved to be the difference where the lakers outscored the Jazz 38-20. The Jazz backcourt was on fire though as Alec Burks and Devin Harris went for 23 and 22 respectively, it wasnt enough in the end though.

Not the way I wanted to start the season, but it showed us our weakness. Our depth at the 2 guard is awful, and its only going to get worse with Jones leaving soon. I struggled mightily at stopping them, as they shot 55%. A couple positives though is only 3 total turnovers and 26 assists. We need to get Hibbert the ball more.

    Granger - 23 points, 8 Rebs
    George - 16 pts
    West - 16 pts, 5 rebounds
    Collison - 14 points, 11 assists

    Ridnour - 23 points
    Love - 18 points, 11 rebounds
    Beasley - 15 points, 12 rebounds

    Carmelo Anthony 29 PTS, 5 REB, 7 AST, 2 STL, 0 TOs, 11-18 FG 4-5 3PT
Baron Davis 16 PTS, 5 REB, 9 AST
    Iman Shumpert 11 PTS, 4 REB, 4 AST, 1 STl, 1 BLK

Michael Beasley 27 PTS, 3 REB, 3 Ast
Kevin Love 6 PTS, 11 REB, 5 ASt

Knicks open with a 93-77 victory over the T-Wolves. After a slow start, and NYK started to win the rebound battle and get out on the break for some easy points. Carmelo had a great all around game and did well as we experimented giving him more playmaking opportunities from a Point-Forward role in spurts. Baron Davis had a decent game at the point, dishing out 9 dimes, but also turning the ball over 5 times. Iman Shumpert was a great spark off the bench--his energy will be a big part of the Knicks team this season.

A really entertaining up and down game that the Wiz came out on the wrong end of. Despite having a single digit lead for much of the game, a late 7-0 run by the Grizz put Washington down by 3 with 21 seconds to go. The called play for the Wizards worked to perfection as Nick Young found himself with a wide open look at a game tying 3 but it would (unfortunately) rim out. After a foul and a made FT to push it to 4, a catch and fire from 3 for Rashard Lewis with 1.2 seconds left made the final score 102-101.

    Wiz stats:
John Wall- 25 points, 14 assists, 6 steals
Nick Young- 18 points, 4 reb
Jan Vesely- 10 points, 3 reb (10 min)
Rashard Lewis- 16 points, 5 reb

    Dwight Howard 36 PTS, 8 REB, 2 AST, 2 BLK, 1 TO, 17-19 FG
    Hedo Turkoglu 21 PTS, 4 AST, 8-9 FG, 5-5 3PT
    Big Baby 12 PTS, 6 REB, 2 AST, 1 STl, 2 BLK
Jameer Nelson 11 PTS, 4 REB, 9 AST

    NOH
Jarrett Jack 22 PTS, 3 REB, 4 Ast
Trevor Ariza 17 PTS, 5 REB, 6 ASt

People were wondering if the Dwight Howard trade talks would be a distraction but Dwight Howard pisses on distractions. He came out absolutely abusing Chris Kaman. The nutsack imprint will be on Kaman's forehead for days. Hedo was huge from behind the arc and Jameer looks better than ever dishing out assists. This is going to be a good year for the Magic.

    Pacers
    Granger: 22 Points, 9-18 shooting
    Collison: 21 Points, 10 Assists, 8 Rebounds
    Hibbert: 11 Points, 5 Rebounds

    Bulls:
    Hamilton: 27 Points, 12-21 shooting
    Boozer: 21 Points, 8 Rebounds
Derrick Rose: 16 Points, 7-22 shooting

The Pacers were able to bounce back from their ugly loss, and dominated the bulls. The Pacers realize that good defense possesions lead to fast break points, and they were able to gather 41 fastbreak points. They had another really nice game handling the ball, with only 5 turnovers. They were in control the whole game, until the end of the bench players came in at the end of the 3rd quarters. Bulls made a run, but the Pacers held them off and won. Indiana needs to work on its shooting, only shooting 27% from deep

Pau Gasol 18 PTS, 11 REB, 4 AST

This was a close game the entire way through. Dwight Howard was quiet but Jameer was on his game. He led the way with 29 points and still dished out 10 assists. Metta World Peace can be blamed for the Lakers loss as he missed 4 wide open 3 pointers. As of now, there are no talks of changing his name back to Ron Artest.

Bobcats open season with a thriller !

    Bobcats 77
    Pistons 75

A see-saw game from the jump two cellar dwellers from the east thrilled the Detroit crowd. Pistons were lead by Stuckey's 26 point 7 reb 3 steal game , Jason Maxiell also had 10 reb & 3 steals .

Bobcats were lead by Thomas 27 point 11 reb 2 stl 2 block game, including a game winning pop from top of the key , rookie Kemba Walker had 18 points 4 reb 4 asst , but 5 TO game, Diaw added three 3 pointers as well , but the end of the game was the most memorable game in recent Bobcat memory.

After a block by rookie Biyombo on def end coach Silas took the final timeout , and called an Iso play for Walker, but it soon looked like a mistake as Kemba realized he aint in U-Conn any more and could not get a shot, tossed up a fallback jumper, clanked off the rim and was saved from out of bound by Diaw to Tyrus Thomas who popped a free throw range jumper that rattled in with no time left .

Laid an egg here. Toronto's defense was just far too much for the outmanned Thunder. Durant missed every shot he took in the last 5 minutes of the game and Westbrook didnt do much either. Back to the drawing board.

The Knicks sqeak by Dru50 and the LA Clippers 81-79 in their home opener in the Mecca. Blake Griffin led all scorers with 30, but it was Carmelo Anthony who hit the dagger with under 10 seconds left to preserve the Knick win. This was definitely a game of runs, with the Knicks opening hot, then having to catchup late. Both teams were able to force turnovers with 12 steals a piece. The Clips hit their free throws, but it the Knicks got 10 big points from their bench versus LAC's 2. Chris Paul missed what would be a game-winning 3-pointer as time expired. GG Dru

Okay so I am in the middle of a game that I thought was a CPU game, but then I remembered that Pagamer still hasn't joined and he has the 76ers. I'm at the very beginning of the game right now. Is there anyway to quit the game and not get it recorded? Sorry, I'm just trying to get way ahead of schedule, and I saw it was a CPU game and just went right ahead and played it.

Thank god we got this game out of the way now. The suns destroy us at home. There was no stopping them. We were down 20-6 within 5 minutes. They shot 11/22 from 3 point land and outrebounded us 52-36. their team fg% was 50, to my 34%. Nothing more to even say here...

The Mavs picked up right where they left off as they led by as many as 15 in the 1st half led by Jason Terry where the Mavs were draining nearly every shot they made. The Heat came back in the 2nd half to take a 85-82 lead with 2 minutes to go in the 4th. Jason Terry drains a 3 to tie the game and with just 6 seconds left Jason Terry would hit the go ahead shot to put the Mavs up 89-87. The Heat had 1 last shot to tie where Lebron appeared to have a clear path for a layup but would come up just short as the Heat fall on the road.

Lebron James: 36 points 10 boards 2 assists 2 steals
Dewayne Wade: 15 points 3 boards 4 assists
