    Grizzlies 105
    Wizards 92

The Grizzlies put together a 2nd half offensive tour de force to put away the Wizards in the opener. Mike Conley scored 18 of his 21 in the second half and Rudy Gay was simply unstoppable at times, putting up 20 points, 12 boards, and 5 assists. While John Wall and JaVale McGee certainly showed up to play, the horrendous performances from Nick Young (3-15 shooting) and Andray Blatche (3-11 shooting) were just poor enough to decide the outcome. Future Wizard Greivis Vasquez was also a spark plug off the bench, putting up 9 and 4 on 4-4 shooting in just 9 minutes of action.

    Wizards stats:
John Wall- 22 points, 14 assists, 10 boards (awwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeah)
JaVale McGee- 22 points, 10 boards (11-14 shooting)
Rashard Lewis- 15 points, 4 boards

John Wall is a darkhorse MVP candidate if the Wiz can win some games and make a playoff run.

    Hawks 98
    Lakers 108

The Lakers get the W over the Hawks in a game where they seemed to be clicking offensively. They got contributions from pretty much everybody and 4 players were in double figures. Kobe had 27 but Gasol was the real life of the team with 19 and 9 for the night. Bynum was a force defensively with 4 blocks and Steve Blake made Kirk Heinrich look slow as he put up 16 and continually drove right past him to the basket.

    Lakers 87
    Hornets 79

This one was a battle for most of the game. The Lakers didnt look sharp as Bynum was in early foul trouble and Kobe only had 2 first half points, but thanks to the effort of Gasol they were able to stay in the game. With about 5 or 6 minutes left in the 4th the score was 65-65 , then Kobe finally started to show up and the Lakers went on a run to push the lead and get the W. Gasol finished with 30 points and 11 rebounds.

    NYK
    Amare Stoudemire 30 PTS, 5 REB, 1 AST, 3 STL, 4 BLK, 1 TO
Baron Davis 5 PTS, 5 REB, 10 AST, 1 STL

Manu Ginobli 23 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST
Tony Parker 14 PTS, 5 REB, 4 AST
Tim Duncan 12 PTS, 7 REB, 2 AST

The Knicks did not look great offensively in their first game with out Star Forward, Carmelo Anthony. Amare led all scores with 30, but only pulled down 5 boards. Manu volume shot for the Spurs (9-25), but was hot when it mattered, as the Spurs pulled away in the 4th quarter. Baron Davis dished out 10 dimes, but struggled from the field shooting 2-11. Landry Fields had a solid all around game, but missed some timely wide open shots down the stretch.

    OKC - 91
    TOR - 82

Oh happy day! I beat the Raptors. Things looked grim early as the Raptors were looking Raptacular, as they could not miss for the first 5 minutes of the game. Things started to slow down a bit and the Thunder were able to play their game and lead by 9 at the intermission. More of the same took place in the 3rd period and the game went into the 4th with the thunder ahead by 11. In the 4th, the Raptors were able to claw within 3 points. Kevin Durant put a stop to that by scoring the last 9 points of the game to seal the deal.

    KD finished with 39/9
    Westbrook - 20/5/4

Again, Rookie Reggie Jackson looked solid, scoring 5 and dishing out an assist in 11 minutes.

Next up, the Thunder play host to a very talented Memphis team.

    OKC - 85
    MEM - 75

The Thunder used a smothering defense to power past the Grizzlies by 10 points. High flying Rudy gay was held to 6-15 shooting on the strength of pressure defense from Thabo Sefalosha and James Harden. Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins dominated the pain on defense and frustrated Marc Gasol and Zach Randolf.

Offensively, things were spread out as 4 OKC players went into double digits.

    Durant - 20/6
    Westbrook - 21points
Harden & Thabo each had 12
    Ibaka pulled down 11 boards.

    Washington 103
    Mavs 101

An absolute thriller in the phone booth. The Mavs led for nearly all of this game, and seemed to put together another run every time the Wiz chipped away at the lead. But a 37 point 4th quarter for Washington (led by 13 from John Wall) would be JUST enough to bring the Wizards all the way back for the win. The final sequence that led to the Wizards win is what MVP campaigns are made of. With the score tied at 101 with 40 seconds left, Nick Young missed an open mid range shot and forced the Wiz to play some D in order to get another shot at it. The ensuing posession went to Dirk (shocker!) who found himself with JaVale McGee guarding him on the perimeter. He put a move on and threw up one of his patented fadeaway jumpers which (for what seemed like the 1st time all game) rimmed out to give Washington the ball with the shot clock off with a John Wall rebound. He brought it up himself and just let the seconds tick away before calling a clear out iso play for himself. He gave Jason Kidd a little spin and put up a floater as time expired which (after bouncing around on the rim for what felt like an eternity) fell to give Washington a signature victory over the defending NBA champs.

While John Wall's buzzer beater was the story of the game, Jan Vesely's first career start (for an injured Rashard Lewis) was possibly even more encouraging for Wizards fans. Vesely was incredibly productive on the day, in no small part because the Mavs kept giving him space to get his shot off and refused to Czech him anywhere except inside the FT line.

    Washington stats:
John Wall- 25 points, 12 assists, 2 steals
    Jan Vesely- 25 points, 6 reb, 2 assists (9-12 shooting, 3-4 3 pt)
JaVale McGee- 13 points, 8 reb
Chris Singleton- 10 points, 3 reb (14 minutes)

    Johnson: 24 Points, 8 rebounds, 7 Assists
    Smith: 16 Points, 9 rebounds

    Pacers:
    Granger: 21 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals
    Hibbert: 16 Points, 8 rebounds
    Collison: 15 points, 12 assists

The Pacers were able to defend their home court in this one behind a huge 3rd quarter which included 16 points in the paint and 7 assists. Indiana finished with 48 points in the paint, and their bench poured in 27. The Pacers had 6 players score double figures. The Pacers shot 50% on the day, and made 15 free throws.

Indiana is now 2-2 on the year.

    OKC - 98
    NJN - 92

Hard fought game all around. THe Nets were draining 3's all night, finishing with 11 for the game. The threes really kept them in this game. Westbrook struggled, going 7-20 but scored 19 and sished out 6 dimes. Durant went for 32 and 9 as he dominated throughout. The story of this game though, was the play of Serge Ibaka. I-Block-A scored 13, grabbed 13 boards and blocked 3 shots into the stands.

With this win, their first road game of the year, the Thunder improve to 5-0. Next up, The Thunder will travel to the City of Brotherly Shove to take on Pagamer07 's Sixers.

    Durant - 32/9/2
    Ibaka - 13/13/2/3
    Westbrook - 20/3/6/3

    76ers 20 31 22 25 98

    Pacers:
    Collison: 26 points, 13 assists, 5 TOs
    Granger: 17 Points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 blocks
    Hibbesrt: 15 poitns, 8 rebounds

    76ers:
    Iguodala: 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals
    Holiday: 17 points, 8 assists, 3 steals
Elton Brand: 11 points, 14 rebounds

This game started like the Pacers were going to run away with it, but the 76ers had other ideas after the 1st quarter. They never let the game get out of a 12 point reach, but they couldn't really come back to make it a really close game. It stayed as about an 8 points lead for the Pacers throughout the entire game. Philadelphia used the mid-range jumper to perfection, which kept them scoring on the suspect Pacers defense. The Pacers were able to push the ball though through most of the game, and they finished with 29 fast break points. The thing that really hurt the 76ers was their inability to hit a layup. They probably missed 8 easy inside shots, whether it be the Hibbert effect, or if they just flat out missed them, it is what hurt them the most. GG Pagamer07

    The Pacers are now 3-2

It was impossible to come back after that first quarter..
