Dirk Nowitzki hit a jumper with .3 left to send the game in to OT. He then had 6 straight points on his way to 33 points. Shawn Marion was the big story. 20 points all in the fourth quarter alone including two 3 pointers that helped Dallas over come a 15 point deficit. The Mavs made 10 of 21 three pointers.

The Raptors improve to 4-1 after getting a huge game from Demar Derozan.... DeRozan shot a ridiculous 14-23 from the field scoring 36 points... Andrea Bargnani chipped in 23 on 10 for 17 shooting... Danilo Gallinari scored 25 for the Nuggets while Ty Lawson was ice cold.... shooting 4 for 14 from the floor....

GS wins it's first game under new management, raining 15 3-pointers on the Cavs in Cleveland. The team was led by the trio of Steph Curry, Dorrell Wright and rookie Klay Thompson, who combined for over 70 points.

Nice to get back on the horse...and I was pleasantly surprised to find the Warriors were 3-1 before I took over.

The Pistons let victory slip away against Miami tonight. The Pistons battled back and forth with Miami all game but in the end the Big 3 were just too much and down the stretch they pulled away. The game was tied at about 2:36 seconds left in the 4th. LBJ pretty much did what he wanted offensively and bosh gave Monroe and Maxiell problems as he finished with 18 and 14 . Jason Maxiell had his best game offensively providing 21 points most of those coming off rim rattling dunks. He was 1 of 3 players to finish with 20 or more points for the pistons. They really could have used some help from the bench who only provided 2 points all night. This drops the Pistons to 6-2 as they prepare to go on the road for 7 straight. Lets see how good this team really is on this long road trip.

    Jazz Storm Orlando

    JAZZ 89
    Magic 74

Orlando, FL: Rookie sensation Alec Burks made a splash in Orlando going for 27 points with 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. "He can really fill up the cup. We'll definitely have a more concentrated effort to stop him when we roll into Utah," said Magic Center Dwight Howard. Dwight's counterpart Al Jefferson had a very efficient game scoring 18 points on 9 of 12 shooting. Dwight returned the favor scoring 26 of his own on 13 of 19 shooting. Paul Milsap went for 10 and 10 scoring on some smooth faders in the first quarter. The Jazz move to 2 and 3 on the season with road games against the Bobcats, Heat, and Hawks coming up. GG Bondzai

    Twolves - 88

Twolves were in this game until the final 3 minutes, when Lebron closed out the game. Fairly happy with how we played. Beasley scored over 25, but no one could really help him.

The Pistons start off their 7 game road trip with a nice win vs The Bucks. It was a team effort but Jason Maxiell and Greg Monroe really ran things in the front court going for 23/12 and 22/10 respectively. Brandon Knight continues to show is scoring prowess with 20 points but we would like to see some more assists from him. For now we are gonna ride the front court tandem though and see how far they take us. We are hoping to build some momentum to carry us through the next few games. Looks like it will be a tight race all year with Chicago and Indy for the divison title.

Jazz Tease Hawks en Route to Victory
    Teams 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
    JAZZ 23 24 16 31 94
    Hawks 12 23 24 26 85

Atlanta, GA: Looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Miami Heat without Al Jefferson, the Utah Jazz did exactly that. The win did not come without drama however as the Jazz held a lead as big as 16 points that would be trimmed down to as low as 2 in the fourth quarter. "We've got to maintain our energy on both ends of the court. We could have just as easily let one slip away out there," said Head Coach Tyrone Corbin. Leading the way for the Jazz was rookie Alec Burks who scored 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds with 2 assists and 2 steals. However, the rook from Colorado needed 25 shots to do it. In the efficient scorers category, both Al Jefferson and Paul Milsap finished in double figures going for 19 and 16 respectively both shooting over 50%. Burks's defensive matchup Joe Johnson went off for 31 points in what is becoming an alarming trend for the rookie. He can certainly score, but seems to be having a hard time adjusting to the matchups with his fellow 2 guards. The Jazz head back home for a two game homestand to take on the Bulls and Rockets where they look to improve on their abysmal start at Energy Solutions Arena.

Jazz Win Big Over East Favorite
    Teams 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
    Bulls 18 17 12 17 64
    JAZZ 20 24 25 22 91

Salt Lake City, UT: After a long road trip the Jazz were welcomed home by Eastern Conference favorite Chicago Bulls and the Jazz were more than ready. Defense was the name of the game for the Jazz as they held the Bulls to 35% shooting and containing Derek Rose to just TWO POINTS on 1 of 21 shooting. "That's gotta be my worst game as a pro. Short memory though, come back next game and forget the last one ever happened," said Rose. The Jazz were led by their monster frontcourt again as Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson each recording double-doubles (Millsap with 16 and 11, Jefferson with 10 and 11). Gordon Heyward and Chris Jennings lit it up from behind the arc going 4 for 4 and 3 for 3 from deep, respectively. "We just clicked tonight. We can't get overly excited for this though. Gotta move on to the next one and continue to get better," said Jefferson. GG Timpegoose

Phoenix starts season 0-5...but is there light at the end of the tunnel?

We've started the season with 5 straight losses, 2 of which have come in OT to Philly and New Jersey...we also had a loss to Chicago where we scored 64 points and a loss to Cleveland where we got outscored 27-6 in the second quarter...

Which has lead us to make some changes. We installed some new plays, combining two playbooks we are very familiar with and replaced rookie Markeith Morris with veteran PF Channing Frye, and we also removed Josh Childress from the rotation in favor of Jared Dudley. We also changed up our strategy a little bit on the offensive side.

All that resulted in our first win of the year, 88-78 over New Orleans.

We shot about 50% from 3 and had 2 great quarters that were able to propel us to a big victory. New Orleans went on a late run to make it closer that it should've been. We were up by more than 20 in the 4th. Frye paid big dividends scoring 11 with 11 boards and hitting some big 3's.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. If we continue to play this way we'll be just fine!

Another dominating win for the Thunder. Memphis was outclassed the whole way as the Thunder built an early 35-16 1st quarter lead and never looked bac, leading by as many as 40 points in the 3rd quarter.

Durant finished with 26 and 10 boards, and Westbrook put in 27. James harden contributed with 15.

Boy, the Grizzlies must suck, as the Warriors also beat them last night by 20+ points. The team was led by Monta Ellis, who was involved in a potential trade to Indy entering the game. Monta has 22 points, 13 of them coming in the first quarter when the team was struggling early. GM Dru was so impressed with the performance that he convinced David Stern to pull a CP3 on the Ellis-Granger deal that appeared to be all but done mere hours before.

The Brandon Knight show took top billing tonight in San Antonio as he helped his team absolutely dominate the Spurs wire to wire for the big 105-78 victory on the road. Knight finished 2 rebounds shy of his first triple double with 25 points 15 assists and 8 rebounds. With Knight moving the ball around like he did the team played really well on both ends of the floor and everyone got alot of touches. "We really played great team ball tonight and its a big win for us against a cross conference opponent. We're kinda dangerous if we can keep this up." This moves the Detroit to 8-2. Next up they continue their road trip heading to New Orleans to face the currently winless hornets.

Totally - I couldn't believe they didn't run me off the floor. They just did a ton of dribbling with their bigs without getting shots.

The Pistons got all they could handle in their match up @ New Orleans. The Pistons came out and jumped to a big lead early but in the 2nd and 3rd quarters The Hornets outplayed them and were up by 10 at one point. Detroit kept it reasonably close though and in the 4th quarter fought back to tie the game up at 82 all. Then in the next few plays Ben Gordon and Brandon Knight would hit back to back 3's to quiet the crowd and take the 6 point lead. The Pistons didnt look back and rode the momentum to the tough W on the road.

The Warriors backcourt led the way in this one, with Steph Curry going for 37 (on 14-23 from the field and 6-10 from 3) and Monta Ellis adding 21 with 6 boards and 8 dimes. The downside was Curry turning over the ball 9 times. Chris Paul tried to keep the Clippers in the game, but he may have shot his team in the foot as he went 12-34 from the field and 4-18 from 3.

The Toronto Raptors gave the THunder all they could handle through 3 quarters, only trailing by 4 at the end of 3 quarters. However, Kevin Durant and James Harden came out in the 4th quarter with a flurry of buckets to put this one out of reach. DeMar DeRozen had 33 for the Raptors on 14-33 shooting and played quite well byt Andre Bargnani had a difficult night shooting the ball, connecting on only 7-20 from the floor. Durant put in 30+ and Harden went over 20 again for the Thunder. Serge Ibaka was a monster all night, scoring 16 points, pulling in 9 boards and blocking 5 shots.

Kevin Durant went off for 40 points in this one in the Garden, but the rest of the team could not quite step up. The Thunder (outside of durant shot an abysmal 29%) and turning the ball over 15 times. This led to multiple easy scores for the Celtics. Not a good time in the Garden

    OKC - 109
    MEM - 75

Nothing like a game against the Grizzlies to make a team feel better about themselves. Russell Westbrook finally found his groove, exploding for 38 points. Durant followed with 28, 8 boards, and 5 assists. Good game all around against a REELING Memphis team that many had pegged to win its division.

The Bobcats took there 6 game losing streak on the road to face the Sacramento Kings. The Kings led for most of the first half as the Bobcats only had a 1 point lead for one possession which led to a Kings run pushing the lead to 57-48 lead at the half. After the half both teams scored 28 points in the third to keep the Kings in front by 9. The 4th quarter was very interesting as the Kings kept a 7-8 point lead for most of the quarter but then they went ice cold and the Bobcats were able to take advantage led by Tyrus Thomas and rookie sensation Kemba Walker who hit a free throw line fader with 4.4 left to put the Bobcats up 1. On the Kings inbound Tyreke got a decent look from the three but couldn't knock it down giving the Bobcats there 2nd win of the season.

Fuckin Richard Jefferson goes for 30 points hitting 6 threes.... including a absolute dagger with 3 seconds left to put the Spurs up 2 points.... Demar DeRozan gets fouled goes to the line, makes the first and bricks the second... Jason Thompson gets the rebound somehow.... goes up for the game winning bucket and Tim Duncan makes him eat the ball..... game over..... DeRozan goes for 31 points, Bargs chipped in 23 points and 10 rebs..... Rookie Tyler Honeycutt goes for 15 points and 5 boards in his debut.....
