The Pistons take care of The Hornets at home to complete the season series 2-0. Detroit controlled this one throughout thanks to great team play where 7 guys would finish in double figures. Great 30:7 Assist to Turnover ratio and great defensive play was the key as they held the Hornets to 39% from the field and lmiited them to only 12 fast break points. Brandon Knight lead the charge with 26 points and 13 Assists.

Slightly lower scoring than most games that Washington has been involved in, and that had a lot to do with the way they decided to play the 4th quarter. Their rotation was thrown off a little bit early in the game, so all of the starters played the entire 4th quarter (except near the very end when the Wiz started going offense/defense) so they walked the ball up the floor a lot more and played in the halfcourt. The Wizards rode a great final 5 min of defense to the win in this one, as they held the Spurs to just 2 points in those last 5 minutes to storm back for the win. John Wall nearly finished with the rarely seen quadruple double (with turnovers), but settled for his 2nd triple double of the season and 9 turnovers. Marco Belinelli continues to provide a spark off the bench, and he now averages about 15 PPG since he came over from the Hornets.

    Washington stats:
John Wall- 25 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds (9 turnovers)
    Nick Young- 22 points
    Marco Belinelli- 13 points
JaVale McGee- 12 points, 3 rebounds
Rashard Lewis- 9 points, 10 rebounds

The Bobcats improve to 8-13 after a very nice win agaisnt the Grizzlies at home. The rookies for Charlotte played very well as Kemba Walker and Jeremy Tyler both had double doubles. Dorell Wright struggled early offensively but made up for it on the defensive end until he was able to get going on the other end. Rudy Gay and OJ Mayo led the charge for Memphis but untimately they would fall short at the end.

The Bulls walk into the Palace and steal one from the 1st place Pistons. The first quarter was insane, with Ben Gordon and Derrick Rose dualing it out. If I remember right, Rose finished the 1st quarter with 17, and Gordon with 15. The pace would slow in the 2nd quarter though, and Brandon Knight would start to take over for the Pistons, getting into the lane at will, similar to what Rose was doing in the 1st. The 2nd half was more of the same, with Rose and Knight both getting to the rack quite often, but Gordon cooled off a bit, which coupled with Knight's 11/28 shooting made a huge difference. Neither team shot particularly well from behind the arc... The Pistons were 5/21, and the Bulls were 4/18. Maxiell and Monroe dominated the offensive glass, pulling down 4 each, but I think 2 for each of them came on the same possession that ended in no points lol. Good game Bucs . Looking forward to welcoming your boys to the United Center.

    Wizards 125
    TWolves 123

A dramatic win for the Wizards against Minnesota. It was back and forth throughout, but the final minute is where the real drama happened. The Wizards were up 1 with 45 seconds left when a defensive breakdown led to an easy, uncontested layup for the TWolves to go ahead 1. The next Wiz possession saw John Wall's drive attempt get blocked and the TWolves would get the ball back with a 15 second difference between the shot and game clock, up 1. They decided to tell Rubio to take it into the corner and hold the ball to kill time, so the Wizards called a big man double of JaVale McGee and Andray Blatche to trap him in the corner. John Wall was playing some CF, and when Rubio made a big motion to pass the ball to Love (I think it was him anyhow), Wall jumped and picked off the pass to set up an easy dunk for Washington to retake the lead with 20 seconds left. The TWolves then had the ball with the shot clock turned off and they decided to hold for the last shot. This is where a near disaster occurred for Washington. The announcers said that the Wiz had a foul to give, so coach ryalaman called for the intentional foul with 5 seconds left. The foul ended up being Wall's 6th (Rubio and Wes Johnson's pumpfakes are killers... I think they've drawn like 10 Wall fouls in our 2 games) and Washington prepared for the ball to be thrown back inbounds. But apparently the announcers lied and Rubio instead went to the line for 2 as soon as they came back from break. Luckily enough for Washington, Rubio (who had been 4-4 from the line to that point) missed both FTs and a Washington rebound let them shoot FTs and ice this one away.

The shooting of the TWolves was a major talking point on the day, as they shot almost 60% from 3 on 19-33 shooting from deep. The only thing that really kept the Wizards in the game was that they won the turnover and rebound battles so they could take 16 more shots than the TWolves on the day.

    Washington stats:
John Wall- 47 points, 14 assists, 8 steals (20-32 shooting)
JaVale McGee- 18 points, 12 rebounds
Marco Belinelli- 17 points (12 minutes)
Andray Blatche- 12 points, 12 rebounds

Bobcats go into Phillips Arena and beat a Hawks team who were missing Joe Johnson due to an undisclosed reason. Charlotte was led by Kemba Walker and Dorell Wright who combined for 45 of the teams 96 points. The bench for Charlotte played a huge roll in there victory tonight led by DJ Augustine and Bismack Biyombo.

The Bobcats have a nice little win streak going as they welcomed in the Boston Celtics to "The Cable Box" and right away the Bobcats jumped out to a 22-8 lead and ending the first with a 36-19 lead. Boston was able to battle back and get within 2 points in the 2nd half but the Bobcats were able to catch fire and Boston went ice cold and allowed Charlotte to push the lead back up to double digits and secure the victory. Charlotte is now 10-13 on the season and only 2.5 games out of the 8th seed but have three tough tests ahead of them in Philadelphia, Toronto, and Dallas.

    76'ers- 101
    Hornets- 78

The sixers open up the second half of their schedule going 2-1. Yes those two wins were against the Hornets, but we'll take it nonetheless! Philly dominated this one from start to finish. Jrue Holiday was named player of the game with 11 points, 11 assists, 5 boards and 4 steals. AI added 28 points of his own. Louis Williams continues to find his groove scoring 17 off the bench. On the day we shot 54% from the field and 7/15 3 pointers. We even won the rebounding battle somehow. The bench is also starting to find it's groove scoring 36 points. For the Hornets, the only bright spot once again was Eric Gordon as he scores 27 points, with 6 rebounds.

    Doing some catch up:

    Suns 84
    Pistons 91

I dont remember exactly what happened in this one but I believe the suns were in control for a long while, but a late 2nd half push by The Pistons secured the game. Jason Maxiell and Ben Gordon performed well with 22 and 19 respectively. While Steve Nash and Danny Granger put in work for the Suns. GG BDSDIGITAL

    Pistons 104
    Magic 101

This was a great game that went back and forth the entire time. Defensively the Magic really had no response for Dwight early on. They tried man to man, but he repeatedly was able to get the ball right under the basket which is never good. They Tried Zone, promptly started getting lit up from 3 so nixed that. Eventually I had to user the Center and try to keep him out of the paint. Offensively Maxiell really did a good job of getting to the basket and would finish with 24 points. Brandon Knight came on late and lead the charge in the 4th that surged the Pistons to the win. Including a great putback lay up to go up 101-99 with less than a minute to go. Knight would finish with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists. The Magic had a chance to tie it late, they came down on the final possession and were clearly looking to set up something for Dwight, but Monroe did a good job of keeping him occupied, he finally got the ball along the baseline as the shot clock wound down and got a shot off but it didnt fall . The pistons hit 3 FT's down the stretch to steal the win. GG Bondzai

The Raptors got 41 from Demar Derozan and absolutely nothing from andrea bargnani who went scoreless, but Jared Bayless chipped with 18, Manny Harris chipped in 13...

    Raptors 107
    76ers 85

The Raptors used a big run late in the 2nd quarter and early in the 3rd... to pull away from a tough Sixers team... Jrue Holiday was a human bricklayer going 2 for 16... DeMar DeRozan went for 27 while Bargnani went for 29 points and 8 rebounds.....

    Catching up on some summaries...

    GS 93
    NJ 90

Steph curry kept the team in the game for 3 quarters (finishing with 41 points including 9-11 from 3 and 3 blocks) but Monta made the plays late to pull out the W, with 13 of his 17 points coming in the final period.

    GS 105
    TOR 99

A tight game from wire to wire, with toronto's mid-range attack paced by DeRozan who had 34 and 5. The warriors attacked from the outside, led by Curry who had 42 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. Good game JrRawlins.

    MIA 83
    GS 70

If you'd told me I would hold the Heat to 83 and Lebron to 6-17 from the field I would have thought I had a W. Little did I know that nobody on the team would show up aside from Curry. Steph scored 38 on 15-27 from the field...the rest of the team scored 32 on 13-45 from the field....not good.

    GS 88
    LAL 57

This one shocked me... A balanced effort on offense and a surprising +9 rebounding margin sealed the win on the road for the warriors.

The Bobcats played host to Dirk and the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks tonight in another tough test for this Bobcats squad trying to make a push to get in the playoffs. Charlotte was able to jump out to an early lead but Dirk got Dallas back within a possession at the end of the first. In the second both teams were trading baskets but the big difference was Charlotte out rebounded Dallas on the offensive glass snagging 15 offensive rebounds. Charlotte was led by Kemba Walker and Wesley Mathews who came up huge as Dorell Wright struggled from the field going 4-16 and on the other side Dirk led all scorers with 25.

Millsap Goes For Triple Double in Route of 'Cats

Millsap records first career triple double to lead the Utah charge

    Bobcats 91
    JAZZ 112

Salt Lake City, UT: 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. That was the line for Paul Millsap as he recorded his first ever triple double for the Jazz on Wednesday. "I felt great out there, seemed like everything i did was in rhythm. You can't go wrong feeling like that," said the big man from Louisiana Tech. In a game that started as a close affair really got its separation in the 2nd quarter when the Jazz would take a 13 point lead into the half. For the first time all season, the Energy Solutions crowd finally made their presence felt in a game by being the loudest they've been all season. "We know we started the season awful at home this year, we have been steadily improving on that and its shown with our fans. That legendary Utah crowd is starting to come back and we love it," Head Coach Ty Corbin said after the game. For the Bobcats the two for GS Warriors led the way. Dorrell Wright and Jeremy Tyler scored 20 and 16 respectively in what has proven to be a solid trade for the young 'Cats. "Tyler took a lot of heat as a youth leaving high school early to pursue a pro career in Europe, but the truth is he got his education, played ball with some legit talent and he's NBA ready. He's proven it since he stepped foot back into the states," Bobcats coach Paul Silas said in his post game presser. The Jazz now travel to LA to play the Lakers before heading to Minnesota to take on rookie sensation Ricky Rubio and his sharp shooting, board grabbing co-headliner Kevin Love. GG ZCar352

    OKC - 102
    CHA - 78

After a very competitive 1st quarter, which ended with the Bobcats ahead 22-20, the Thunder simply took over and ran away with this game. Kemba Walker and Jeremy Tyler did their best to try to run with the Thunder, but in the end it was too much for the young 'Cats to handle. Kevin Durant and Serge Ibaka took over and ended any hope the Bobcats had by outscoring them by 26 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. gg ZCar352

    Durant - 26pts, 6 boards
    Ibaka - 20 points, 5 boards, 3 blocks
    Westbrook - 18 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals

    OKC - 100
    SAC - 78

After trailing by 5 at the end of 1 quarter, the Thunder again took this one over in the final 3 frames. Durant scored 32 and Harden put in 23 as the Thunder once again rolled.

    OKC - 108
    CLE - 77

From start to finish, this one was in hand. Kevin Durant was unstoppable and Russell Westbrook looked like an ACTUAL point guard as the THunder cruise to victory over a hapless Cavs team.

    Durant - 40 points, 7 boards
    Westbrook - 27 points, 5 boards, 13 assists, 5 steals

+ 2 sim wins over the Clippers and sim losses to the Magic and T-Wolves.

    Twolves - 118
    Raptors - 115

The Timberwolves played atrocious defense in this game, but hit key shots when they needed to and were able to stop DeRozan and Barg's supporting cast. They could not stop DeRozan though, who went off for 50 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals, one of the most impressive games in the baseline to date. Barg added 31 on 12-30 shooting.

Kevin Love led the way for the Twolves, scoring 26 and had 13 boards. He really showed his presence in the 2nd half. Rubio added 21 and 8 assists. GG JrRawlins

    Twolves - 87
    Lakers - 94

The Lakers jumped out early in this game and never looked back. Kobe played all but 8 minutes in the game and scored 34, and grabbed 9 rebounds. Will Bynum also added 13 early before getting into foul trouble and eventually fouling out. Rubio led the way for the Wolves with 23 points. Kobe went 5-5 in the 4th quarter to put Minny away.

    Twolves - 107
    Hawks - 92

The Timberwolves just flat out crushed the Hawks in this one, and were ahead by 30 at half. The subs played almost the entire 2nd half. Love led the way for the Wolves with 22 points and Rubio also added 16. Brad Miller hit 4 threes off the bench for 12 points in a surprise performance.

    Twolves - 88
    Bucks - 79

One of the first low scoring games of the season for the Wolves, and that was expected with newcomer Tony Allen starting solely to play defense. His 8 points were only a bonus for the Wolves. Minnesota was led by Love who had 16 points , and Wesley Johnson came off the bench for the first time and scored 13, including a huge windmill dunk.

This one wasn't even close going into the 4th, but the Kings pulled back to within single digits after the 2nd team came in with a 21 point lead. Hibbert scored 27 on 9/15 shooting, and Rose had 22 and 6 assists. The Kings started off the game with 6'6 Chuck Hayes defending Hibbert, and Hibbert would score 13 first half points before cooling off. Hamilton was solid with 14 points and 7 boards, and really led the way when Rose and Hibbert weren't on the court. Marcus Thornton did the most damage for the Kings finishing with 26. JJ Hickson added a double double, with 14 points and 10 boards. Jimmer only saw the court in garbage time, which is surprising after the damage he did last file.

Suns 93 - Thunder 92 in an instant classic.

I don't have the stats in front of me but this was a very evenly played game all the way through out. We jumped out to a 2nd quarter lead as high as 8 pts, which I believe was the highest lead in the whole game. But OKC came back in the 3rd quarter, scoring 30 pts to bring the game back about even. They scored those 30 without Westbrook for much of the 3rd quarter who was benched with foul trouble after drawing two very quick blocking fouls at the start of the 3rd to give him 4 for the game. I think all told they fouled us something like 19 times. We missed a handful of free throws which just about cost us the game. A few of those misses were due to the glitch where instead of showing the free throw shooter it showed me the score board :( I did my best to hit those but never did. Anyway, The 4th quarter started out all Thunder and it looked like they were going to pull away but we made some key defensive adjustments, namely starting to double on the perimiter to make him give it to someone else. It worked and the Thunder started to go cold and we were able to tie the game back up at 90 with about 9 seconds left on a nifty Steve Nash layup. But those fucking Thunder...they ran the ball right back down the court and I believe it was Westbrook who got it all the way down under the basket, drew a little contact and layed it in to take the 92-90 lead with 1 second left on the clock. Needless to say I was stunned.

However we called a quick timeout and imbounded the ball from our three point line. I user controlled Granger to the top of the key. I was shocked that no one from OKC came out to disrupt the pass, something they do pretty frequently. I imbounded to Granger, he caught it, shot it....it bounced around a few times on the rim as the buzzer went off but eventually it fell through the twine....Suns win 93-92. Maybe the most intense regular season game I've played to date.

And a monster win for a Suns team that is still alive in the playoff race, but on life support. We had to have this one and we lucked out an got it.

gg Mike E tough way to lose.

    Playing catch up again.....

    CLE 67
    GS 87

The Cavs were never really in this, and they were shot out of the game by their ROY candidate Kyrie Irving. Irving shot 4-22 on the day, and seemed more interested in proving he could beat either Curry or Ellis off the dribble than getting his teammates involved.

    NJ 86
    GS 87

Wow.....craziest ending to a game I've had to date. The Warriors struggled to keep the score even with the Nets for most of the game (due mainly to the addition to NJ of Carl Landry, who was a flat out beast), and found themselves down 5 points with about 14 seconds to play. Monta drained a 3 to cut the lead to 2 and then he intentionally fouled rookie Marshon Brooks with 2 seconds left. Surprisingly, the rook bricked both free throws giving the Warriors a shot at an undeserved W. Coach Mark Jackson called a timeout to advance the ball to halfcourt, and the team ran a double screen for Ellis who got free at the top of the circle for a wide open look at a game winning 3. Swoosh! Golden St win!

    SAC 78
    GS 83

Another game where we struggled for long stretches, but thankfully so did the Kings. The teams combined to shoot like 34% on the day, and ended up in OT after both teams failed to convert on chances to win in regulation. Thankfully, the extra period woke up Ellis and Curry, who combined to get the opening 8 points of the period and secure the W.

When you take the #1 and #3 team in 3 point shooting into a game, you expect fireworks.....and this one did not disappoint. The Warriors came out gunning, making 9 of their first 16 3 point attempts, and Tyrus was a monster inside defensively, erasing 5 shots on the night. The Magic would grind back at home, and really took advantage when they had one of their stretch 4's in the game. In the end though, Orlando could never quite pull even, as Golden St seemed to have an answer for every run. Good game as usual Bondzai. This was a huge win, as it puts the Warriors alone in #1 in the West with a 22-8 record.

Derrick Rose was about the only one that could score for us in the first quarter. At one point, he was 8/11, and the rest of the team was 4/16 if I remember right. The Rockets came out firing though, behind Kevin Martin who would finish with 24 on 10/19 shooting and 4/9 from behind the arc. The turning point came in the 3rd quarter, where we just wouldn't miss, and Perry couldn't get anything to fall for him. I believe at one point early on in the 4th a stat came up and showed that we were shooting 80% in the 2nd half, and he was shooting around 20%. It was a poor shooting night for both teams behind the arc, as is the case in most of my user games for some reason. The Rockets were 9/34 and we were 1/9, with Korver hitting the lone 3 for us. Good game Papa Perry , minus that 3rd quarter, it was a very close game.
