The Lakers get the victory in this one at home against the Mavericks. Though Coach Mike Brown was not very happy after the game. "We played really poorly and this was probably one of our worst performances of the year as far as FG percentage. Luckily Dahntay kind of bailed us out with his big night and we got the victory." Coach Brown was reffering to Dahntay Jones and his amazing 7 3 point shots on the night. The Mavs employed a zone defense look for most of the game, in the first quarter the lakers were not sure how to attack it , but as the game went on they realized that they could exploit it from beyond the arc and thats when they were able to put it away. In the last game of the regular season for both teams, the Oklahoma City Thunder put an exclamation point on a very successful season by thumping the listless Rockets at the Toyota Center. While Kevin Durant had an off shooting night (9-24) he ended with 23 points and 9 boards. On the whole, the Thunder played suffocating defense, allowing only Chris Kaman to get some shots to fall. Kaman finished with 23.

With 4 games to play, the Thunder take a 3 game lead on the Lakers for the best record in the Western Conference. Regardless what happens, this season has been another progressive step in the growth and maturation of a very young Thunder team.

    Spurs 77

Derrick Williams led the way with 28 points and Michael Beasley chipped in 22 as Minnesota kept their playoff hopes alive with a huge win over San Antonio. The Timberwolves played great defense against the Spurs holding them to 40% shooting. Minnesota still need to win against conference leaders Oklahoma City and New Orleans while hoping that Denver stumbles on their way to the finish line.

Respectfully request a new thread for playoff results. Better yet, a thread for each series would be even better...

    DALLAS WINS! DALLAS WINS! 81-74

On the shoulders of a 12/19 shooting, 28 point night by Dirk Nowitzki the Mavericks finally get a win with their new coach. Vince Carter decided he was 40 years old anymore and also had 14 points. The big key was the 10 team blocks and 8 steals. There might still be hope for Dallas to make the playoffs if they can somehow manage a win against the Thunder...

Great game in New Orleans. We went into the half down 6, but our D really stepped up in the 3rd and held the T-Wolves to only 16 points, giving us a 2 point lead going into the 4th. Wesley Johnson was on fire for the T-Wolves, and every time we'd start to pull away, he'd bring them right back. In OT, down 2 Johnson got a pretty good look at the basket from behind the arc, but it clanked off the rim. Thought for sure it was going in... Don't want to give that guy any space if you can help it. Okafor grabbed the rebound, and managed to get away from the T-Wolves defenders to kill out the rest of the clock. Gordon and Landry were the main scorers for us, but Al-Farouq Aminu was definitel the spark. He had a couple of big dunks and had a season high 14 points to really get the crowd going for us. Marco Bellinelli contiuned his cold streak, going 0/11 for the day. Good game sonn

The Clippers fought back from a 4 point halftime deficit to tie it up at the end of 3. We pulled away again in the 4th once the Clippers needed to start fouling. Landry bailed us out again, with the rest of the team shooting rather poorly. Landry was 9/14 for 19 points and had 13 boards including 6 on the offensive end. Gordon shot 7/24 from the field, and 1/8 from behind the arc. The Clippers defense forced us into more 3's than normal, and even though a lot of them were decent looks everybody ut Marco struggled to hit them. Paul, Blake, and Nash all had solid games for the Clips, but they came up just short. Good game Matrix Monkey

Bucks upset Magic to end playoff hopes

    108

    98

The Orlando Magic came into the Bradley Center needing a win to keep there playoff hopes a live as they faced a Bucks team with nothing to lose. The Magic came out on fire making there first 6 shots but the Bucks were able to keep pace but found themselves down 31-26 at the end of the first. Stephen Jackson led the Bucks on a huge run to take the lead. Jackson ended the first half with 20 pts as the Bucks took a 53-43 lead into the half. After half the Bucks picked up where they left off and so did the Magic as the Bucks were able to stretch the lead out in the 3rd by outscoring the Magic 30-17 in the quarter taking a comfortable 83-60 lead into the 4th. Orlando's offense finally showed back up and the Magic started to chip away at the Bucks lead and got it down to 12 with just over 2 minutes to play but Kemba Walker put the nail in the coffin as Jameer Nelson left him open to double Chris Singleton who passed it to Walker for the wide open 3 to push the Bucks lead to 15. The Magic made another push and got it to just a 9 point deficit but with the Bucks only missing one free throw in the last minute the lead held up giving the Bucks the 10 point win which eliminates the Magic from the playoffs and lets ryalaman and the Wizards in.

    Timberwolves 119
    Thunder 110

Just before tipoff it was announced that the Timberwolves had been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. The team was disheartened but also wanted to give the home crowd one last victory. Their opponents would be the #1 seeded team in the West - the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This game was pretty much defense optional as both teams put up bunches of points from the tip with the score tied at 29 after the first quarter. Both teams seemed to get any shot they wanted. Russel Westbrook was especially dominating as Ricky Rubio couldn't handle him at all off the dribble and Westbrook got to the basket with ease. For Minnesota Derrick Williams and Wesley Johnson started the game off on fire taking the team on their backs offensively.

Minnesota started to pull away in the in the 2nd where they outscored OKC 30-22 and went into halftime with a 59-51 lead. The T'wolves continued their strong play in the 3rd eventually extending the lead to 16. The Thunder mounted a run to get the lead to cut the lead to single digits but Minnesota countered with a run of their own to extend the lead to 89-78 entering the 4th. The final quarter was just more of the same, every time that it looked like the Thunder would be prime to make a big run the Wolves hit a big shot to hold them at buy. 3 consecutive 3s, 2 by Wesley Johnson and 1 by Michael Beasley finally put away Oklahoma City for good.

It was a great win for a young Minnesota team that hopes to make a big splash next season. The most encouraging part of the win was the play from the starting 5 as each had a huge role in the win.

    Orlanda 80

Dallas capped off the season series 2-0. Dirk Nowitzki had 28 on 13/19 shooting and Shawn Marion dropped 17 on 8-12, at least 6 of those were dunks as he had a monster game inside. Glen Davis was the leading scoring for the Magic with 15. Dallas shot lights out the entire game going 59% from the field and 38% from three point land. gg Bondzai
