The California Series kicks off today with a top 25 matchup between the upstart #24 UCLA Bruins and the #14 Cardinal from Stanford.
I have UCLA winning this, no confidence in Cheez's passing game, and I think UCLA plays better defense
I'm going with ucla as well, I'm liking the quiet confidence that recchem2000 is demonstrating over the 'look at me' attitude era that has begun in Palo Alto under Cheez.
Blind faith in the Bruins, I like it, but I have my own doubts about winning this game. We'll see how it plays out.
I like Stanford in this one. Something to prove and Luck starts to feel good.
Ucla has a good squad, so it won't be a cake walk. I think stanford should pull it out though
Luck has had a 66% completion percentage the last two games and no interceptions.
lets not pay attention to the fact that he only threw 6 passes in each game and completed 4 of them
I'll show you an Attitude Era...
After Stanford beat Ucla and Usc beat Cal a couple weeks ago, The California Series kicks into high gear tonight as Cal meets Ucla and Stanford clashes with Usc.

The Cardinal's leading receiver has 7 receptions for 135 yards, and 2 TDs, in my last game against Oregon State, Marquess Wilson caught 6 passes for 164 yards and 1 TD. I know in another game Wilson caught 9 passes. I would make a comment about B. Butler's 11 receptions but he has gained 486 yards and has an impressive average. Throw the ball Cheez
Butler is good for 1 50 yard catch a game it seems. And I plan on moving to more of a passing attack next season, although I did attempt nearly 20 throws vs Cal so I'm getting there.
I am not making any comments about your lack of throwing because a 44.6 yard average is damn impressive
and when is this game going down tonight
Yes, kids (and my sanity) willing. I've had about a grand total of 20 minutes to myself today due to napping issues this afternoon.
okay I will try to be on for this one
Ucla beats Cal 14-7
Usc beats Stanford 27-17
Even though USC had another user, I still consider it @Dru50's Trojans and the California series has been the most constant user based rivalry in our league due to low turnover in coaching. If we include Worgum @ Wazzu the North is the only division with no change to it's coaching staffs over the past 8 seasons (going on 9).
All of the Cal schools are now a formidable force in the league so I thought I'd bring this thread back to take a look at where the series stands going into some 2019 top #13 clashes between the California schools. Cal has already beaten USC for just the 2nd time in the decade this season. If I had a computer I would go through and give the results of games since we've been here and the overall series records before my clash with recchem2000 in a couple weeks. Sadly, I don't have a computer currently though so if someone would look those up that'd be awesome. If nothing else the overall series records and then we can keep up on scores from this season.
USC 31 @ Cal 38
When did this happen?
When we all joined the top #13 rankings. Or have you not been paying attention....
rankings mean nothing
Start at a 2 star program and tell me that Cheez...is it your Birthday yet?
