Week 9 Recruiting News
Will Harrison the , #1 ranked RB from California has decided to play for the Texas Longhorns over the offer from USC. The #11 ranked player in the country sighted Championship Contention and Pro Potential as his main reasons for coming to Austin. Harrison is 6'0", 202 lbs with 4.38 speed. Coach Era said,"Once Will gets here and we get a good look at him on the field inside our offense we will decide if we intend to RS him or if he will become a weapon for the Longhorns in the backfield. Someone close to the team said,"This guy reminds us of Adrian Peterson and that is very promising!"
Jason Wilson the , #1 ranked T from Texas is going to stay in state for a chance to play for Coach Era due to the Coaching Experience and Prestige the Longhorns have to offer a new recruit. The #30 ranked player in the country also wants to have a shot at playing for a National Title. 6'7" and 285 lbs will be a good starting point for Wilson but will probably be redshirted his first year in the hopes he can add some size and strength which is needed for a Tackle in the Longhorns offense.
Evan Smith the #10 ranked G from North Carolina decided he wanted to take a trip to Texas and play for the Longhorns and Coach Era. 6'5" and 293 lbs is a nice size for a guard but he will have to work on his Run Blocking (C+) if he wants to see the field early in his Longhorn Career...but more than likely he will receive a Red Shirt for his Freshman year.
Texas currently has the #1 ranked recruiting class and still has some key recruits looking to sign. We are only at the half point of the season so a lot of programs can climb up the rankings but the Longhorns feel pretty good about how this recruiting class is shaping up. Texas currently has 4 of the Top 100 guys committed.
