Congrats on getting the job with the bears

What are your goals of this season?

How far are you from competing for the big 12 or do you feel you are already there?

It is going to be a long year. Having Griffin out for the season will certainly change things, but the way the defense played against a good Wake Forest team leaves room for hope. The biggest problem for this year and years to come is RECRUITING. In state there is UT, TT, TAMU, TCU, SMU, UTEP, NT, Rice, am I missing anybody? Oh, Houston. That does not include OU and Ok St to the north, and all the other conferences gunning for Texas recruits also. It really comes down to the fact that we need to build this program 1 year at a time, with quality players at key positions. The better we compete the more recognition the program will receive. We lose a lot on defense this season, but we are only 1 or 2 players away from having the defense right back up next year. There are a few huge recruits we are going to try and get into Waco. If that happens, look out Big12.

You have had some real tough games lately. Whats the mood like in your locker room?

After your Heart breaking loss last week how is your team responding in practice?

The mood is still good. The senior leaders, Pawelek, Szymanski, Lake, are all getting after the young players to keep their head up and finish the season. We are only 7 games in, with 4 in the win column. Yeah, it would be great to compete in the South, but that doesn't always happen. Finish strong, win a few more games, become bowl eligible, welcome back Robert Griffin.

The defense is working hard. The offense is working on the plays they did not execute coming down the stretch in the loss to Ok State. Special teams was good, but will look to be better as we move forward. Playcalling will also be addressed. From here on out, you will hear "Sic' em Bears" a little more often.
