The Chicago Bears improved to 9-3 on the season and stretched their NFC North lead to 4 games with a comfortable win over the Detroit Lions, who fell to 4-8.

This one got off to a slow start, with neither team managing to score in the opening quarter. Matt Forte finally broke the drought by taking a screen pass from Jay Cutler, who continues to impress under new coaching, 18 yards for the TD. Forte would score again with 6 seconds left in the first half on a 1 yard run, leaving the Bears leading 14-0 at the break.

The Bears began to put the game away on the opening kickoff of the second half, forcing a Lions fumble and getting the ball at the 23 yard line. From there, Forte scored for the third time to extend the lead, and when Cutler threw his second TD pass to FB Will Ta'ufo'ou it was 28-0 heading into the final quarter. The Lions would get on the board with a great throw from Matt Stafford to Kevin Smith for the 79 yard score midway through the last quarter, but from there Chicago would run out the clock for the win.

Matt Forte was the MVP of the game, rushing for 102 yards on 27 carries, catching 2 passes for 26 yards and scoring 3 times. Cutler was also solid, throwing for 170 yards and 2 TD's without an interception. Matt Stafford struggled at times for Detroit, but managed to throw for 176 yards with a TD and no picks. LOLB Julian Peterson lead all players with 10 tackles on the day.

GG Miklos, thanks again for subbing.
