These two teams came into this matchup with pretty much nothing to play for as the Lions had locked up the division while the Bears will playing for pride. Both coaches knew what to expect in this matchup as the first game produced a hard fought 2 point win for the Lions in Detroit. "Coming into the game we knew what they liked to do" said Trestman after the game "we had to look out for the play action pass which burned us all game in the first meeting. We did a decent enough job and that all came to fruition with the last play of the game with the Bostic pick 6 in OT".

The Lions roared out of the gates scoring 14 unanswered as Stafford would find Blackmon from 16 yards out in the 1st quarter before Reggie Bush added a 6 yard TD in the 2nd. Jay Cutler was able to lead the Bears down to a score late in the half as he connected with seldom-used WR Ayron Ellison for the 9 yard score with 2 seconds left in the half, 14-7 Lions at the break.

The third quarter was filled with turnovers, as the Lions would fumble the ball away (3 times in total) while the Bears would throw it right back with interceptions, so the only score of the quarter was a Nugent 18 yard FG as the Lions D was able to stand up strong on the goalline.

The 4th quarter saw both teams get on the scoreboard as first Jay Cutler would hit TE Martellus Bennett on a 2 yard pass on 3rd and goal, before Josh Scobee's 26 yard FG tied it up and sent this game into OT.

In OT, the Lions would win the toss and elect to receive, and were able to get to midfield after a couple of first downs. On 1st and 10 Stafford would drop back on a playaction pass and try to hit his receiver in the middle of the field, but MLB Bostic read it beautifully cutting infront of the pass and intercepting it. After taking a big hit off the intended receiver, Bostic was still able to stay on his feet, juke past a couple of Olineman, and eventually hug the sideline while passing Stafford for the game ending pick 6. The Bears give the fans something to smile about at the end of a miserable season, while the Lions brush this loss off as they get ready to host a playoff game.
