Cincinnati was swept by these Steelers in the last user controlled season. Although the the Steelers came in with an 0-3 record, the Bengals knew this would be no cake walk. Bengals would start the day off with the ball. Lucas threw a INT on the first series that set Pittsburgh up in good field position. Things didn't look promising. Both teams battle the LAG BEAST that ultimately affected the game and the score. After being stopped on 3rd down, the Steelers attempted a FG but was lagged and ended up missing. The Steelers would have another chance at a field goal after stopping the Bengals on their second drive. Again, the field-goal was missed. Three times was a charm for Pittsburgh as they punched in the rock early in the 2nd quarter o take a 7-0 lead. On the ensuing Kick off, Logan Serratos found a crease and took it 102 yards for the TD. 7-7. Bengals defense help Pittsburgh and got the ball back for Lucas and company, who were able to get into field goal position to go up 10-0. Crucial 4th and goal stands by both teams in this one....Battle in the trenches...Third quarter would see the Bengals try to pull away. Tyler Eifert was found off of a play action for a 65 yard catch and run. Steelers would not lie down though, they too came up with a big play, Brown from Aristotle for 61 yards, less than a minute later. 17 - 14. Lucas and Pead would drive the length of the field, and Turner would cap it off with a 12 catch from Lucas to put the Bengals up 24-14 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd. Bengals defense toughened a little, and were able to keep the Steelers from scoring while special teams added 3 more to the total late 4th quarter. GG AveryB , always a challenge and good sim experience. Both teams played as well as could be expected in the lagfest, gl the rest of the season, see you gm 2.
