This one might spark up some debate......

    I have ZERO idea.....

    UCLA -- Valentine?
    Oregon --Lawrence = beast
    Texas A&M -- Patterson
    Virginia Tech -- Downs, Williams?
    Virginia -- Duckett
    Georgia -- King
any other that shouul dbe up for consideration?

Lawrence was the best back that I went up against by far.

Valentine is pretty good, but just a Junior. If he hangs around, he could be sick next year.

Its funny to see how pass heavy this league is, did not realize it till we brought this up. I would have to say that the best backs went up against were those USC backs in the early years, they destroyed me. Lawrence was as fun to play with as any player in this game for me. He had a nack of making that last guy miss, or running him over, which turned good runs into great runs.

I would say atkins was my most beastly back. He singlehandedly beat Oregon with his huge runs. Can't remember a back really destroying me. The only guy who killed me running was Morris.

Atkins was explosive, much like Marvin Patterson from A&M. But I think when you talk about elite of the elite you have to mention Lawrence. He was in a great running scheme (and benefited from some good progression unlike the others) and his skill set was highly rated and balanced.
