    Big 12 Break Down

Going into week 5 we will take a look at the Big 12 from a statistical perspective.

Quarterback Seth Doege has 92 comp. on 167 attempts and 1058 yard to pace the conference in those areas. Here's the remainder of the top 5:

    Tommy Dorman TAMU 853 yards
    Landry Jones OU 774 yards
    Garrett Gilbert Tex 665 yards
    Collin Klein KSU 640 yards

But Sophomore QB Clint Gaddis leads the conference with 9 TD tosses.

KSU QB Collin Klein has the conference lead with 6 INT's ouch!

Senior Landry Jones is hitting on 71 percent of his passes!

The big stat though is the QB rating and for a college quarterback to be over 200 in this area is outstanding Texas Junior Garrett Gilbert has done that thus far with a 208.0 passer rating Landry Jones is knocking on that door though with a 189.7 effort.

Miller paces the league in some major rushing categories

Oklahoma has shown early that they will feature senior running back Jon Miller. He has 15 more carries (92 tot) going into week 5 than any other Big 12 rusher.

His lead however in rushing yards is not that significant. Miller does lead the conference with 424 yards but KSU senior back Jarell Childs is nipping his heals with a 392 yard effort. Rounding out the top 5 :
CU Quentin Hildreth 365 yards only 1 TD
    KSU Aaron Burton 323 yards
    NU Lester Ward 312 yards

TAMU Senior running back Christine Michael leads the conference with 7 rushing scores. Burton and Childs of KSU each have 6 to fall right behind Michael.

Senior QB Tommy Dorman has 3 fumbles leading the league.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The conference is always paced by the boys from TTU in receptions and this year is no different. Senior Eric Ward leads the way with 29 grabs. The top user reception man is Senior Brandal Jackson of TAMU and CU Senior TE David Gory each with 17 receptions.

Dan Buckner is a big play guy and scoring machine.

Ward is also the leader in receiving yards with 411. Dan Buckner of Texas is third with 321 yards. Eric Ward and Adrian Richards the senior from OSU (20 334) each have 4 Td's Buckner is right behind them with 3 (i think Buckner will have a big game vs. Baylor and put himself near the top in yards in TD's)

Freshman Trevor Gray of KSU leads the league with 6 drops.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gotta show the Big Boys some love. Sophompre RT Scott Horne of OU has 12 pancakes and only allowed 1 sack. While Josh Aladenoye OU, Tom McNamara LT OU and Matt Brown RT OU all have 11 Pancakes and given up 0 sacks.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the defensive side of the ball Anthony Lewis the :5stars: MLB for KSU has taken the conference by storm he has 31 tackles which is second in the conference.

Senior OLB Sean Fisher of Nebraska has lived in the backfield with 12 stops for loss and 7 sacks. Leading the conference in each category.

There are a host of defenders with 2 picks and included in that group is All-Everything Freshman Anthony Lewis.

Users should watch out for senior OLB from Baylor Earl patin he has played the passing lanes and knocked down 7 passes.

Lewis is also league tops in Forced fumbles with 2.

Wow, I knew that Nebraska would miss Cody Green alot since he left early last season... but to not have my starting QB have any mentions in stats raises some eyebrows.

Its a testament as to how the Nebraska (who ran a spread last year) will adapt to personnel (power running formation).

If Spano was healthy he'd be in the mix.

Hildreth has 2 KRs for TDs though. He has also missed at least half of one game due to injury.
