A quarter of the season is in the books and it's shaping up to be a competitive season as conference play gets under way. In a couple of thriller games conference play opened up with a bang.#19 Oklahoma St. defeated #18 West Virginia 49-42. What was probably the game of the year was a double overtime thriller between West Virginia and Baylor with the Mountaineers pulling it out 59-58. Oklahoma St leads the Prairie Division at 4-1(1-0) followed by West Virginia at 4-1(1-0), BYU 2-2(1-1), Iowa St. 2-2(0-0), Oklahoma 4-1(0-1), Kansas St 2-3(0-2). In the Heartland Division the Texas Longhorns sit at the top at 5-0 followed by Texas Tech 4-1(1-0), Houston 3-1(1-0), Baylor 2-2(1-0), TCU 4-11(0-1), and Kansas 2-2(0-1). Recruiting has been slow in the Big 12.
In recruiting news TCU have landed 5 commitments including 2 ESPNU 150 prospects, #3 T Jeff Barber and #3 FS Mike Bell. The only other team to land a commitment is Oklahoma with 2 prospects.
