Last season, the Jets knocked Buffalo out of the playoffs with a week 17 victory. Buffalo got a little revenge this year with the two meeting at the midpoint of the season. The game opened up rather quickly when Buffalo QB Drew Hale hit WR Javian Jamison with a 58 yard bomb. Sadly for Buffalo, Hale also hit Jets corner Jason McCourty right in the chest with an interception a few plays later. The Buffalo defense came out on fire and sacked ex-QB EJ Manuel twice in the Jets first two short lived possessions. The Bills offense was moving the ball decently but only snagging field goals throughout the first half and held a 6-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter. New York finally got some momentum to swing their way with wide receiver Stephen Hill. The big man hauled in a 60 yarder to get New York down to the Buffalo 10 and then RB Deshae Bostic finished the job to put New York on top 7-6 approaching the midway point of the quarter. Sammy Watkins and the Bills answered. Watkins started the drive with a 24 yard reception with defenders draped on his back, then Watkins snatched a 3rd down in route, spun outside to avoid a defender and then scampered 39 more yards to the endzone to put Buffalo back on top 13-7.

The Jets opened the 2nd half moving down the field and adding 3 more on the board to only trail 13-10. Buffalo in a round about way mimicked the Jets drive. It consisted of a few chunk plays and showed signs of being promising before the flame burned out in field goal range. As Buffalo tacked on 3 more they took a 16-10 lead to the 4th quarter. The Jets put a little scare into the crowd at Ralph Wilson Stadium as they approached midfield and looked like they were going to steal this one late. On 2nd down, Deshae Bostic was stopped short of the 1st down marker and set up a 3rd & 3. (Looking back, the next play will go down as one of the most important in the ball game). EJ Manuel snapped the ball and hit Bostic who was in motion out of the backfield. Bostic was met by corner Nickell Robey who made a fabulous open field tackle on a spinning Bostic and stopped the Jets just short. New York elected to punt and Buffalo began to eat away at the ticking clock. QB Drew Hale and TE Darrius Hale connected on a huge 3rd down when Jason McCourty went for the bat down and whiffed. The conversion right before the 2:00 mark all but sealed the deal for the Bills. New York got the ball back with around 30 seconds left and a few deep balls were batted down as Buffalo knocks off AFC East rival New York Jets 16-10.
