SAINTS OPEN UP SEASON 3 WITH DECISIVE VICTORY
New Orleans, LA - Savage Mason Reporting

Saints came into OMFL Year 3 excited about their team after a very quite, yet good offseason. With some exciting pick ups on defense and just a few minor tweaks on offense, the saints were jacked and ready to hit the field. Overall their team speed is amazing and this squad will look to battle the Panthers and Bucs for the division.

Saints 1st play of the game, RB Keller takes a shot and tears his abdominal, out for the game! This didn't seem to phase the Saints though as the offense didnt miss a beat with new RB Jacobs and Washington. Saints punch in their first two drives, with long, time consuming drives that just ate up the clock, and Texans defense. Jacobs punched in the 1st drive with a 7 yard rumble and the 2nd drive was topped off by an amazing pass catch combo with English and Henderson. Henderson made a spectacular grab over 3 defenders and over his head.

Texans put together a great drive of their own, yet saints defense gets stingy and holds them to a fg.

Saints get the ball back and start another great drive. This time topping it off with a 1 yard sneak by English. 21-3 Saints.

Right before halftime the Saints allowed Johnson to get behind the defense and burn them for a long TD to make it 10-21 Saints.

2nd half seen both defensives play very well as Saints added 2 fgs and the Texans a fg of their own. 27-13 Saints going into the 4th.

This is where the game got interesting. Saints were trying to put the game away, while the Texans started to really open it up.

Saints get the ball halfway through the 4th knowing they needed to put the game away or these Texans were going to get back in it quickly.

Saints put together another drive using the combo of Jacob's hard running and English crisp passing to get it down to the 1 yard line. Texans defense as outstanding on the goal line all day line, this time though the saints used a playaction on 3rd down to hit a TE for the TD.

Saints added a FG late off of a turn over and the Texans battled back and hit Johnson on an amazing play as he out jumped the CB for the td.

Saints start out the year on the right foot, picking up a huge win at home vs a very good texans team. Saints defense looked great except for a few minor hiccups and a great play by Johnson. The schedule doesnt get any easier and the Saints will look to keep things rolling next week.

Jack was simply amazing today. He made all the throws that you can ask for, and some you never expect. 22/28, 2 tds, and 317 yards passing, and a rushing td. English used his arm and legs today to pick up some huge 1st downs and eat up the clock all game long. English has stepped into his own and looks to have a big year for NO.

SAINTS OFFENSE EXPLODES - HENDERSON HAS 200 YARDS 3 TDS
New Orleans, LA - Savage Mason Reporting

Last year the Saints had to travel to San Fran to face the eventual NFC Champs as they were fighting for their Playoff lives. 49ers promptly hung a 30 spot on them and the Saints playoff hopes were dashed to pieces. It was one of the most frustrating games I've ever watched as the 49ers top defense simply hit the Saints in the mouth and the Saints folded.

Fast forward to week 2, and Coach Nate couldn't sleep because these 49ers only got better this past offseason. 49ers were coming in hungry for a win, and the Saints were flying high after whipping up on the Texans.

49ers win the toss and Saints receive first. The defense looked like it was much more of the same as last year. 49ers force a punt after picking up a few first downs. 49ers recently picked up super star Rookie of the Year RB Sanders after being abruptly cut by the Chiefs for off the field issues. First play of the 49ers game and Sanders takes it back 83 yards and simply blows past the Saints defense on a sweep. Great blocking and just super fast speed and the 49ers look to be running away early, 7-0.

Saints get the ball back and again start to plug away at the 49ers super fast defense. Saints running game was simply shut down all day long, Good luck to ANYONE who tries to run on this team. Their lb's are sick nasty fast and their dline is full of horses! Saints settle for a fg to make it 3-7, 49ers.

After a forced punt the 9ers hand the ball to brown, who gets hit by rookie FS Williams and fumbles. Saints recover and make the 49ers pay. English hits Henderson from 5 yards out for the first of 3 tds between the two. 10-3 Saints.

49ers would not be held down though as their running game would break a few holes and the passing game would get it done when needed. Saints hold them to a fg. 10-10 tie right before half time.

After half the 49ers would start to really get things rolling. On a playaction, Saints defense gets caught up on two crisscrossing post patterns and 9ers cash it in for a TD to Davis. 17-10, 49ers.

Saints come right back though and English really gets things rolling. On a 3rd down the 9es send the cbs on a blitz and English quickly hits Henderson who does the rest for the 49 yard td. 17-17 tie.

The 4th quarter was all Saints. They would cash in 3 tds, 2 set up by Henderson. On a blitz, English steps up and hits Henderson who gets it close for a long 1st down play. Jacobs would punch it in to make it 24-17 Saints.

After a turnover the Saints English would find Ingram on a playaction wide open for another td to almost put the game away. 31-17 Saints.

After getting the ball back and trying to run the clock out, English hits Henderson on a screen and Henderson makes one of the nastiest plays that you will ever see. After bouncing off a FS who tried to big hit him, getting the first, spinning and breaking a tackle, dancing the sidelines, and out running everyone for the game sealing td. 38-17 Saints.

    WR D. HENDERSON
Henderson has quietly had 2 of the best seasons in OMFL and Saints history, yet hardly ever gets the praise he deserves. Today Devery showed that he is a top threat in the OMFL and will be for years to come. Henderson grabbed 10 catches with 200 yards and 3 tds. Henderson simply took the game over in the 4th quarter, and made one of the most spectacular plays that you will ever see. Henderson will once again have a great year.

Great game 9ers. I told him on pm and I've told the board about this game. If I can crap on him about his game play then I can commend him for cleaning it up. A lot of guys, including myself, said they didnt ever want to play him again. I'll give you your props here and in the board room. it was a very clean game today. Very sim. He's a great player and I also give him props for going out of his way to get this game in. I hope he keeps it up.

JACK ENGLISH CONTINUES HOT STREAK AND SAINTS ROLL OVER BEARS LATE
New Orleans, LA - Savage Mason Reporting

Week 3 brought in another playoff team from Season 2 of the OMFL. For the Saints it also brought their 3rd game at home in front of the home crowd.

The Saints (2-0) faces off against the Bears (1-1) in a pivotal matchup of week 2. The Bears are coming off of a extreme makeover offseason, where they traded off some key defense for some great offense.

Saints are rolling with their new defense and their adjusted offense. Both teams were really putting up some huge numbers on offense and it would be a game that the crowd would enjoy.

1st quarter seen the Saints get the ball and begin a drive. Bears defense was putting a lot of players in the box throughout the game and was really doing a great job with shutting down the Saints run. Saints RB Keller has had a very tough start to this season, being injured 8 times already in 3 games, and this game would be no different.

Bears would being their first drive and really begin to force the saints into a scramble. The pass was what the Saints would key on with almost double coverage and 'keying' on their rookie WR. The Bears would use this to their advantage and really use the run to keep a drive going. Cutler would hit RB Redmond on a swing pass and he would scamper in from 31 yards out for a quick 7-0 lead.

Saints would fire right back though and start a great drive of their own. Saints would hit WR after WR for huge gains. English is simply on fire. Saints cap off the drive with a 1 yard run by Washington for a 7-7 tie.

The start of the 2nd quarter would be all Saints. The defense would get key turnovers and the offense would really make the Bears pay! Saints would take a 14-7 lead on 13 yard td pass to TE Rucker on a great grab and breaking of a tackle. Saints are simply loaded at WR and TE and Saints Coach Nate feels that he has one of the most unstoppable teams in the OMFL.

Bears would tie the game right back on a 20 yard td pass to WR Bennent as he beats double coverage to a high grab and td. 14-14 tie.

Saints would up 10 more points on a 5 yard henderson slant, in which he goes up high and takes a hit to hold on for the td. Then FS Williams picks off Cutler and sets up a FG for the Saints who took a 24-14 lead into half.

2nd half would be all defense as the Saints simply ran out the clock by keeping long drives alive and the Saints defense would rattle Cutler all day long.

Bears would cut it to 3 points with a 4 yard run by Redmond, who had a great great game for the Bears. Saints would answer right back to close out the 3rd with a 1 yard td pass to FB Vickers.

4th quarter the Saints would get a few INTS and get some very long, clock eating drives. For the 3rd game in a row the Saints get the ball back with 3 or 4 mins and simply kill the clock with a long drive.

Great game Bears. A classic Nate/Chrisdstan matchup. I miss those old OMFL battles, and this one was a great game. GL the rest of the way.

    WEEK 5 - SAINTS 24 VS FALCONS 3

ENGLISH HAS FIELD DAY AS SAINTS DEFENSE TOO MUCH FOR FALCONS
New Orleans, LA - Savage Mason Reporting

Week 5 brought in another playoff team into the dome, AGAIN. 5th straight home game to open up the season, which may hurt in the end, but the Saints needed a strong start with this tough of a schedule.

The Saints (4-1) faces off against their rival Falcons (3-1) in a pivotal matchup of week 5, probably game of the week material.

Saints are reeling from a tough loss and the Falcons were walking high after a 3-0 start to the season. These two teams would battle it out for the NFC South.

The game as pretty much all Saints from the get-go. Saints defense played out of their mind today, getting all over the field, making plays, hitting and hurting qb's and just causing havoc.

English and Henderson would hook up on a long 78 yard td play, and the Saints defense would do the rest, holding one of the top rushing attacks to a little over 30 yards and one of the top offensives to 3 points.

Saints won't have a stud rusher all year long, but they consistently get the tough yards and run out the clock when it matters.

Saints defense held the top OMFL rushing attack to just over 30 yards rushing on the day, sacked both Falcons QBs, hurt Matt Ryan, and picked both qb's off twice. Quite a day for one of the top OMFL D's in the league.

ENGLISH DOES IT ALL ON OFF DAY FOR SAINTS DEFENSE
Green Bay, WI - Savage Mason Reporting

Week 6 was here and the Saints season is rolling right along. After a huge win against the rival Falcons the Saints came into GB with high hopes. Problem was most of the OMFL's top teams had fallen this week, and the Saints didn't want to add to that list.

The Saints (5-1) faced off against an old foe in the Packers (1-4) in a pivotal game for both teams. Packers are trying to get their season back on track and the Saints are trying to keep their season on track and not have an emotional let down after a tough game last week.

Packers and Saints would both start off super hot in this game. Saints received the ball first and would march right down the field in a typical Saints drive using both the run and the pass to eat up clock and yards. Saints 2 headed monster in Keller and Jacobs seems to have finally found their footing. Will the Saints have a 1000 yard rusher again this year? Probably not, but they will have one of the better rushing teams in the league and a team that can eat up clock. Keller would punch the Saints first drive in from 3 yards out for a early 7-0 Saints lead.

Packers really would have a great game plan though and start off really hot by attacking the Saints usually strong LB corps and secondary. Packers would top their drive off on a huge 49 yard td pass to Jennings who simply just blew past every Saints defender on the field. It was like the Saints were stuck in the mud and Jennings just out ran everyone. 7-7 tie.

Saints would begin another drive but this one ended quickly. English would have a wide open slot TE on a crossing route, but LB Hawk would make an amazing, flash out of no where, leaping grab for an INT. Packers would make it count on the very next play as RB Chapman would be untouched as the Packers would have a dog pile of blockers in front of Chapman. Chapman rode the pile and then broke outside for the long 53 yard td which left the Saints stunned and confused. 14-7 Packers.

This is where English would take over the game as Coach Nate simply put the ball in his hands. English and Henderson, up to this point, were really hooking up for some huge plays and the Saints wanted to take advantage of that. Saints would drive down to the 6 where the Packers on 3rd down would play a zone and leave the middle wide open. English would run it in for the quick score to tie the game at 14 a piece.

After a 3 and out, the Saints would drive again but this time it would stall out and Hartley would settle for a 30+ yard fg to take the lead. 17-14 Saints.

The Packers would use some very bad timed time outs and the Saints would be able to get the ball back with under 40 seconds left. On a 3rd down English would find Blansit on a long td pass where the SS would accidently be selected and would run away. Easy pitch and catch td. 24-14 going into half time.

The opening kickoff would be fumbled after half time by the Packers, and the Saints would make them pay. This time after getting the ball to the 1 the Packers, on 3rd down again, would play another zone on a playaction. English would make them pay again as the middle just opened right up for his 2nd rushing td of the day. 31-14 Saints.

Packers would drive and hit a very long 52 yard fg, which would have been good from 62 yards, to close that lead to 31-17 Saints.

Saints would try and put the game away on their next drive. Jacobs would rumble in from 2 yards out to make it 38-17 Saints.

Packers wouldn't let it go though and would score on a huge 75 yard td pass to Trammell to make it 38-24 Saints.

New Orleans QB English would come right back, this time finding WR Jackson for Jackson's first td on a 15 yard pass play. 45-24 Saints.

New Orleans would kneel the ball in the redzone one last time to end the game.

19 of 25, 343 yards, 2 passing tds and 2 rushing tds. Not a bad day for the former #1 overall pick of the OMFL draft. English is on a roll and has his offense putting up sick nasty numbers. With the rushing game of Keller and Jacobs the team is able to eat up the clock and not many other combinations are as good as English to Henderson.

Great game Packers. It's always a pleasure playing Jethro. Good guy who is sim style player that the OMFL is built on.

SAINTS BIG PLAYS PICK UP ENGLISH ON OFF DAY
Indianapolis, IN - Savage Mason Reporting

Week 7 and it's highly anticipated match up vs the Colts is finally here. The red hot Saints (6-1) faced off against an even hotter Colts (4-2) team in a battle of 1 loss teams for one of the top seeds in this early OMFL Season 3. This one should be interesting. Saints field one of the fastest teams in the OMFL with the #1 ranked offense. Colts filed one of the better defensives in the league with widely unknowns on offense. Which team's weaknesses would shine through and which team would leave this week with bragging rights for an early season, hang your hat on, victory.

After a quick restart and a quicker 3-0 for the Colts, Saints march right down the field in classic Saints manner, by using both the run and the pass. Colts tighten though and Saints settle for a 48 yard fg to take an early lead. 3-0 Saints.

That would actually be all the action in the 1st quarter. The only other big deal that happened was Colts QB Painter went down after taking a huge hit and he would not return. Saints looked to have this one in the bucket after moving the ball at will, yet after this injury it was the Colts who would turn things around.

2nd quarter would be all Colts, as their defense would really rattle and get too English. Colts would tie the game at 3 after a 40 + yard fg themselves. 3-3 tie.

Saints would answer right back with one of the best runs you will ever see (4050 pt ranking) as Jacobs would take a hand off 45 yards for the score after using a nice spin move and running over 6 players to the endzone. 10-3 Saints.

This is when things got nasty for the Saints. English would throw 3 picks in the 2nd quarter. One was a throw while trying to break out of a sack, just a lucky break for Colts, one was just a horrible decision on a crossing route, and the last was a long pass with one on one coverage and the Colts DB just made a great grab. One of those INTs was returned for a td to tie the game at 10 each.

Back up QB and rookie Mcallister would throw a perfect 49 yard pass bomb to Bowe for the 17-10 Colts lead. This would be how the 1st half would come to a close.

The 3rd quarter would see the Saints keep pushing English to put this game on his back. Not a whole lot happened other than the Saints making the game tied late in the quarter with a 2 yard dash from Jacobs to make it 17-17 each.

The 4th quarter would be when the Saints and Colts would both go to another level, and this game would turn into an instant classic.

With the game tied at 17-17 each, and the Colts driving, Mcallister would make his only mistake of the game, throwing a deep ball into double coverage which would be user picked by FS Williams. Saints would take the ball on the 5 yard line and cap off a 95 yard drive with a perfect play action pass from English to Ingram for the td. 24-17 Saints.

Colts would take a whole 30 seconds for Mcallister to hit Robertson for a 56 yard td pass to tie the game at 24 each.

Saints would come right back with a 3 min drive of their own, this time capped off by a 7 yard td run from English, who now has 4 rushing tds on the year. 31-24 Saints.

Colts would get several key 3rd downs on their next drive, capping one of those 3rd downs off with a 12 yard run from Mcallister to tie the game at 31 with 12 seconds left.

Colts would then try and squib kick the ball, but RB Washington would scoop up the kick and return it to the 35 yard line of the Saints after some key blocks by Saints special teams. He would get it out of bounds with 4 seconds left and Hartley would kick a 42 yard game winning FG with 1 second left.

Saints would perfectly perform the squib, steal the game, and run out of the locker room and onto the bus with a 34-31 win VS the Colts.

9 rushes for 81 yards and 2 TDs. Jacobs, even though not great stats all season, has been a monster for the Saints and has been a key reason that they have controlled the clock in every single game. Jacobs and Keller (even English for that matter) have averaged close to 100 yards each game they have played, and each game is only getting better. Jacobs was a huge pick up for the Saints, and todays run was one of the greatest you will ever see.

SAINTS CONTINUE DOMINATION OVER RIVAL PANTHERS
Charlotte, NC - Savage Mason Reporting

I have to apologize for this being late and not very good this week. I am extremely busy with camp right now, for the next 3 weeks actually.

Week 8 brought back 2 owners who are very familiar with each other. This rivalry has been dominated by the Saints and this week would be no different. The Saints traveled to face the red hot Panthers in a pivotal NFC South game.

This game was very close until late in the 2nd half when several key turnovers cost the Panthers the game. Saints running game was on point again this week while the passing game and English have struggled.

Saints would move to 7-1 half way through Year 3, and look to be running away with the NFC South.

SAINTS COACH NATE WINS SECOND PLAYOFF GAME IN LONG OMFL HISTORY - DEFENSE DOMINATES
New Orleans, LA- Savage Mason Reporting

After a dead ending to the OMFL season which seen the Saints win, yet struggle without the big wins and huge offensive numbers, the Saints were looking to shut the doubters up and prove they belonged in the OMFL Playoffs as a true OMFL Bowl contender.

In come the red hot, yet struggling Cowboys and old rival Coach Wajo. These two coaches knew each other well and Wajo often had the upper hand on Coach Nate.

Cowboys elect to kick and the Saints offense wanted to get off to a hot start, and that's what happened. It looked as if the Cowboys plan was to blitz, blitz, and blitz some more, and English was READY. First drive ended in a English to Blansit 35 yard td pass as the Saints caught the Cowboys in a blitz. 7-0 Saints.

Cowboys wouldn't be out done though and used several big plays to make a nice drive which was capped off by Tebow 1 yard td. 7-7 tie.

This is when the Saints team would take the game over and not look back.

English would take another Saints lead by hitting Henderson on a break away 36 yard td catch and break tackle td. Henderson didnt get the catches, but he got the yards today. 14-7 Saints.

On the next drive Cowboys would hit their RB out of the back field when Guyton would strip him and Maeweather would scoop it up, make a move and score from 54 yards out. 21-7 Saints.

Cowboys would attempt to get back in the game before things got out of hand. Tim would force a bad pass which would be picked off by Johnson and returned 45 yards for the TD. 28-7 Saints.

Half time would see the Saints get pumped up to put this game out of reach and put it on cruise control.

English would start the 3rd quarter off with an 18 yard td pass and catch to Blansit where he simply made a cut and out ran everyone for the TD. 34-7 Saints.

Henderson would get back in the action before the Saints called the dogs off with a 62 yard pass/catch from English. 41-7 Saints.

Cowboys would get back on the board with an 81 yard td pass to Driver where Saints swapped to get a sack and it swapped to a CB and ran away from the WR (man i hate when that happens). Cowboys just never quit. 41-14 Saints.

Saints RB Jacobs would break off a 70+ yard run where I really was confused on what to do. I didnt want to score and rub in, but I didnt want to be a punk and rub in by running out of bounds. I ended up taking it out at the 1 and my 3rd stringer punched it in from there. 49-14.

Cowboys would add a 4th quarter drive on the 3rd string defense of the Saints. Saints would also have an impressive 13 play, 5 min drive with all 2nd and 3rd string players to really kill the clock.

End of the game and the Saints first playoff game and win in 3 season. 49-21.

Great Season Wajo. You never stopped playing and you had a great attitude about the game. You are the kind of owners we can build an amazing league around. Thank you for a great season!

    CB CHRIS JOHNSON

New CB Johnson came in and had a break out game (finally!) by taking 2 picks and having a pick 6. Saints defense really dominated today.

Saints pick up their first win and automatically become Redskins fans. Couple of reasons, I dont want to face the Eagles speed and I want to beat the best of the best to get to the OMFL Bowl. GO PIGS!
