After an embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles the San Francisco 49ers returned home to lick their wounds. The team left with its 53 man roster but shortly before takeoff rumors started swirling that QB Colin Kaepernick missed the team flight. Then the news hit, Kaepernick was dealt to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2nd round draft pick in next spring's draft. The move leaves many, including some of the players, at a loss for words. The team released a statement as the team was airborn: The team and the reps for QB Colin Kaepernick have come to agreement that both sides may be better served with a separation. Colin's agent worked in conjunction with our front office and a couple teams to strike the deal that benefited both sides. We wish Colin well. The Niners were not idle long as they quickly negotiated a deal to bring one time franchise signal caller for the Dallas Cowboys out to the west coast for a 4th round pick. He will step in and be the starter for what the team hopes is the next couple season at least while the team looks to locate and groom the future of the team.
