The offseason has brought some turmoil after winning a playoff game and losing to the Raiders in the divisional round the chargers GM fired Mike McCoy without the owners concent... Owner Danny Ski then fired the gm and went out and persuaded McCoy to come back to San Diego... Phillip Rivers said he was almost going to retire after his best season of his career where he threw 47 TD's... When McCoy came back it bought another year or two of Rivers at the helm in SD!

Rivers on a roll with over 1100 yards, 11 TD's to only 3 ints the last 3 games... And the Bolts are winning!

    Now 4-4 after 1-4 start!

Rookie WR Royster stepped in better than expected after Brandin was injured first 7 games! He's on pace for rookie of the year consideration with 8 td's and over 700 yards through 8 games. The guy is blazing fast!

Rookie CB D. Harris has also been great early with 5 ints already and locking down opposite Jason verrett. Speaking of verrett, he just signed a 4 year extension keeping him in sd!

Backup QB Colin Kaepernick also showed the bolt fans what he could do if needed in second half against the raiders a few weeks back after things go out of hand. He looked crisp and showed that he could fill in if ever needed.

On behalf of all the fans in SF, we apologize that Kaepernick is still on your team. Would you like all the torn and burnt Kaep jersey circa 2012?

Chargers win 4th straight to go to 5-4 going into their bye week. Their win this week in buffalo didn't come without a cost since Melvin Gordon went out with a foot fracture that will keep him sidelined for the rest of the season... After the bye the bolts will take on their biggest rival whoozy11 and will look to continue their winning streak to 5 games in a row!

After the bye the Chargers beat whoozy11 and the stubborn KC Chiefs to continue streak to 5 wins. Rivers was hurt in first quarter and Kaepernick took over admirable and lead team to 4th quarter come back after lucky forced fumble.

Then the Chargers followed it up hosting Cincinati at home and it started out as defensive battle with no score heading into the final minutes of half but the bolts had the ball in scoring position and HC/badkup QB failed to call timeout and let clock run out on a bonehead neglect error "cousins style..."

The second half would be back in forth until the late 3rd and early 4th when cincy would pick Kaep off twice in good field position and kick two fg's to go up 20-14. Chargers went for it on 4th in 10 with 3 minutes to go and came up short only to pretty much seal their losing fate but they held cincy to three and out but only had 2 to's so would get ball with only 30 seconds left and 0 To's... The first pass went to wr Brandon on s corner to buy the bolts a few yards. Then kaep tossed a 40 yard "rope"' to Royster and he caught and ran it in for a 59 yard game winning TD!

    Chargers win 21-20!

Joe "cool" Flacco is bringing his super bowl winning experience to sunny San Diego after Bengals GM swooped in and blew up SD's draft by snagging Blake at 2... A special thanks to the financial faux pas of the Buffalo Bills (imagine their offseason if they could crunch the numbers and manage their books...).

SD now has 3 firsts in 2019 and a SB quarterback at the helm!

How did they acquire their first rounders you ask? Well, they started by trading away their 26th overall pick and a pair of seconds rounders (2018 & 2019) to move up in the draft to pick 6 to take Star QB out of Alabama Blake (traded with new Dolphins owner PushU2theBrink...)

Tragically, a day before the draft SD got wind of Cincy moving up to #2 overall and after trading away AJ green the experts surmised that they had their eye on a WR... However, Cincy took Adonis last season and SD had a sick feeling that they were going for their targeted QB...

Immediately the front office got on the phone and opened up communication to the league trying at first to move up to #1 but Seattle shut down talks for the first pick... But Seattle owner and GM Cheez flipped it and opened up talks for SD's #6 overall pick... SD agreed to terms for a conditional deal should Blake be taken at #2 by Cincy to move down to #24 and also secure Seattles 2019 first rounder in exchange...

Then SD noticed other teams with need at QB in front of them at hypothetical 24 and they weren't prepared to go anything else but QB first round so they put out feelers for another hypothetical "Inception like" "trade within a trade" with Cardinals owner publik drunk . Arizona would possibly trade their 2019 1st and 3rd to SD for their 24th overall pick should SD decide to move down due to Cincy taking their coveted QB...

Well, as you know, even though both other QB's were there at 24, this inception trade ended up happening anyways during the draft and that is how SD ended up with 3 1sts, a 2nd, and two 3rds (one traded to Baltimore for Flacco). The GM of SD reported afterward that they were hit with the decision at 24 to go with Weaver or Jordan but with the prospects of another 1st and 3rd, and Flacco surprisingly being available for trade, to take the picks and gamble that a deal with Papa Perry woijd get worked out after the draft...

    Details of SD Baltimore trade:

SD sends their 2019 3rd rounder to Baltimore (they acquired a 3rd from Arizona so not missing a beat).

Baltimore will also receive Phillip Rivers who has rubbed ownership the wrong way in SD after vocalizing his disapproval of LA relocation (ended up building in SD in 2017 anyways...). And to make matters worse, he had multiple interviews last year indicating that he was retiring after the 2018 season but then he decided to play another year because his kids need more in the college fund?!?!!

Chargers head into their bye week sitting atop the west at 6-3 and undefeated in the division 3-0.

Flacco has played well while healthy (missed 4 games due to injury) and Kaep once again filled in admirably as a backup.

We're looking forward to getting WR James Brandon back after the bye week.
