It's been a topsy turvy week for the newest manager in the Serie. Mr. Selvy, first hired by Spanish side Levante, left under dark of night after news came out of Valencia that top striker Obafemi Martins had been bought out of his contract. With a simple, one line tweet from the skipper, it was clear that Selvy was not happy and looking for a new job. Hours later, rumors started coming out of Germany that Selvy's private plane had been sighted at a small Monchengladbach airfield. Sources now confirm that he has officially been named manager of the German side. "It's been an emotional day. First the disappointment in Levante's upper management in letting a world class player leave, then the excitement in returning to the motherland. My German roots run deep, having grown up watching the likes Lothar Matthaus, Jugern Klinsmann, Rudi Voeller, Oliver Kahn, Michael Ballack... Now to be able to coach a team with the history of Gladbach, it is a dream come true." With the season now just days away, it will be a crash course for the new boss to get acquainted with his team in preparation for the season opener.
