2031-2032 Offseason Boston is looking to be very active this offseason, with a lot of money off the books and able to spend we are looking to make some big splashes, with that said these are the guys we are listening to offers on. Bowling has pitched solid in his 3 years in the majors averaging a 4.0 WAR each year and an ERA+ of over 100. Very cheap contract for a solid number two in any rotation. James Hoff, my number one pick this previous draft. Hoff is another version of a two way player. He pitched great this past season in single a with a sub 2.50 ERA. Looks to have the ability to crush the ball and shut teams down pitching wise. Sylvester Leonard, got the call at the end of the year after pitching extremely well in AA this year, after being a college graduate out of Rutgers he made his debut at 25 for us this year. Leonard looks overall solid and pitched well in his first time around the big leagues. Greg Cracker Ludlow, has been everything advertised when we took him in the first round. Ludlow will always give 30+ starts a year and doesnt walk much and seems to be getting better and stronger as the years go along. Juan Pamblanco, after coming over in a deal with the White Sox for Tim Clement, Pamblanco helped carry Boston to the playoffs the past two years before this season and has been a great addition to the middle of the lineup. Coming off a down year (which was the case for almost all my offense), can play both 1B and 3B. We have a good 1B in Puntadewa sitting at AAA along with Dave Norris so it gives us the ability to move Pamblanco. Petersen is a solid defensive 2B and SS, he is probably a gold glover at either position. He gets on base at a big clip, in splitting time this year he struggled a bit but his OBP numbers don't lie. With a crowded infield we need to move some people. Petersen is just a casualty of over crowding. Paul Spencer, our 2nd round pick a year ago, solid ground ball pitcher, Spencer has all the tools to make his Sinker a big time pitch with his movement. Troy Thompson, coming off an injury that cost him half the year, with Big Thunder making his debut this year, it allows us the chance to see what Thompson could get. Offensively solid player, and good defense at SS and 3B. Robbie Brooks, a good lefty arm out of our bullpen and with a slew of other arms on the way, we are able to put Brooks on the market to see what he can get. Vargas has been a big time guy in the back end of our bullpen, for teams needing a back end guy, Vargas is definitely a reliable set-up/closer. Looking for: Top of the rotation ace, OF, 2B
Original post updated for the 2031-2032 offseason, looking to retool and have a lot of financial flexibility this offseason.
Following the addition of Santiago Martinez, we are listening to offers on Moon-Soo Kim. Can play everywhere in the outfield, and be a gold glover at it. Unreal speed, and good OBP.
