    WKU 14 North Carolina 13

WKU took a 7-0 1st quarter lead on a 2 yard TD run by Bobby Rainey. The TD was set up by a 3rd and 3 play where UNC sent the house. Jakes made the right read and sent TE Jack Doyle on a slant out route. He caught the pass and ran down to the UNC 2 for a 65 yard completion.

    Halftime score 7-0 WKU

3rd Quarter Kawaun Jakes played like a JV QB and threw 2 interceptions. Both led to UNC TDs. On the second UNC TD, the kicker missed the XP. The way the momentum was, UNC was starting to fire on all cylinders, the perception was the Tar Heels were going to blow out the weaker, inexperienced, Hilltoppers.

    After 3 quarters 13-7 UNC.

In the 4th, Kawaun Jakes led the Hilltoppers on a 18 play drive that ended on a 2 yard Jakes option TD run. Moore makes the XP to give the Hilltoppers the 14-13 lead with 26 seconds left in game. UNC has little time to make something happen and 4 plays later, on 4th down, they call PA pass and the QB thinks he can get the 5 yards for the first but he is sacked to seal the win for WKU.

    Final score WKU 14-13

Player of the game for WKU was Bobby Rainey 55 yards rushing and the opening TD.

Nice win bc, your Hilltoppers are tough to play against. It'll be a tough game when you come to Troy next year. Nice season man.

The newly ranked, #25 Troy Trojans won their 9th game in a row when they beat rival Alabama-Birmingham in the New Orleans Bowl. The Trojans got pressure on Blazer quarterback J Webb all day long, sacking him twice and Brandon Lang's 1st quarter pick 6 really set the tone for Troy for the day. Webb ended the day 16 for 34 for 185 yards because he was under pressure all day long.

Senior quarterback Levi Brown went out in style being named Player of the Game after he completed 18 of 32 passes for 273 yards and 2 touchdowns. Brown led the Trojans to their 11-2 record this year completing 312 of 509 passes for 4,316 yards and 28 touchdowns. Brown will be sorely missed after he graduates this Spring.
