The first offensive play of the game for USC would see RB Joe McKnight take a nasty hit from LB Antwine Perez and be taking out for the game. However, USC would still take the ball down the field and score on a 42 yard pass. The Terps would answer back with a TD of their own for a 7-7 tie at the end of the first quarter.
