"Bring the swag back" FSU 2010 preview

    Florida State

Florida State 2009: 2009 was a sad year for the Seminoles, their two time national champion coach Bobby Bowden announced his retirement. The Seminoles finished the year at a disappointing 7-6. The only sweet moment of the year was when they won the gator bowl against West Virginia and carried coach Bowden off the field.

Florida State 2010: Everyone in Tallahassee is anxious to see how coach Jimbo Fisher can do replacing the legendary Bobby Bowden. The 2010 schedule set up favorable for the Seminoles to make a run at the ACC title and a top 10 finish.

QB: Christian Ponder takes the reigns at QB in his senior season. Will this be the year that he finally has a breakout year and lives up to the hype? who knows maybe he struggles and if he struggles Jimbo Fisher wont hesitate to put in Sophomore EJ Manuel.

HB: For years the seminoles havent had an established running game, but they belive that junior Jermaine Thomas gives them just that. Thomas is pretty much a balanced back with a good burst in open field but can also ram between the tackles.

WR: Juniors Brett Reed and Jarmon Fortson are going to be very key for Florida State if they are going to get their Swag back this year. Reed is more of a quick speed receiver where Fortson is the deep threat guy.

O-line: Florida states line is strong all around. Any defensive line in the nation will have a though time sacking christian Ponder. Junior Left Tackle Andrew Datko is certainly the most talented player on the line, and maybe the best left tackle in the country.

D-line: Florida States Defensive line is definitely the weak point of the defense, they are young and have good potential, but they just arent elite status yet. Coach Fisher and the staff need to hit recruiting trail hard on d line men.

Linebackers: Florida defense is lead by Junior LOLB Nigel Bradham, look for bradham to be makeing plays all year. Every starting Linebacker for FSU is a junior so they will all most likely come back next year and be even better.

Secondary: The two corner positions consist of Ochuko Jenije and Greg Reid who offer great speed and coverage ability. The two playing the safety spots are young and loaded with talent but again just arent at that elite level yet, and certainly have much work to do
