Broncos 30 - Chefs 10 The Broncos' last win came against the Chiefs and after a disappointing performance vs the Patriots in Foxboro, they look to at least narrow the Chiefs lead in the division a little. Kansas City looked good early putting together a nice balanced first drive that ended with a 19yd TD catch by TE Travis Kelcie. Osweiler and the Broncos would respond with a TD drive of their own that was capped off by a Demaryus Thomas TD in the first quarter (7-7). The Broncos D settled down and started to play some solid football in the 2nd quarter. CB Chris Harris picked off a Alex Smith pass and the offense was able to capitalize off the turnover as RB Hillman would end up finding pay dirt (14-7). On the ensuing drive, Alex Smith was intercepted again, this time by MLB Chris Chamberlain. Broncos would end up kicking a FG at the end of the 1st half to go up 17-7. WR Demaryius Thomas breaks one for 52yds. Broncos D picked up where they left off and continued to play well in the 2nd half. QB Osweiler threw an INT early in the 3rd quarter but the D was able to hold the Chiefs to a FG. Alex Smith was picked off twice more and Denver would be able to put 10 more points on the board to seal the win. The well balanced Broncos team that showed up today are who their fans would love to see on a more consistent basis. Though it was an important victory for Denver, the Chiefs still have a good lead in the division and the Broncos will need to play some damn near perfect foot ball down the stretch in order to have an outside chance.
