Chargers 14 - Broncos 20 Broncos came into this one badly needing a win to stay in the run for the division. Well they didn’t get off on the right foot as they gave up a big kickoff return down to the 5yd line. The only reason it wasn’t a TD was due to the kickoff returner celebrating himself out of bounds . Luckily for him Ryan Matthews was able to punch it in from there. (7-0). Now on offense Broncos were able to move the ball behind the running of 2nd year RB Ronnie Hillman. Hillman was appointed the starter about 4 games ago and the move appears to be the right one so far. He found the endzone from around 20yds out and a Matt Prater FG would give the Denver the lead at the half. RB Ronnie Hillman rushed for 139yds 2TD's The story here is the Bronco defense who’ve been playing some good ball over the last 3 games and were able to keep the San Diego offense out of the endzone until under 2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. Osweiler wasn’t exactly tearing it up out there so their best bet was to let the D go to work and put their O in better field position. Meanwhile RB Hillman was able to score another TD and Matt Prater added another FG to put them up 7 - 20 with under 3minutes to go in the game. Phillip Rivers would lead his team down the field, converting on a couple of 4th downs and capping it off with a TD to pass to Eddie Royal with about a minute left in the game (14-20). The Chargers failed to convert the onside kickoff and the Broncos were able to get another 1st down to seal the game. Denver wins their 3rd straight and hope to carry the momentum into their final 2 games. They will definitely need more solid performances from their defense and better QB play from their young QB Osweiler for sure.
